:hyper: Yes, yes, yes! Repurgation was one of my 2015 favorites, and this sounds very good so far.

That Lucifer's Child also sounds surprisingly good. I must keep an eye out for them.

Your friend is in Sarkrista? That's pretty badass. Is there a release date for the Sarastus album?

New Gotsu Totsu Kotsu in a couple weeks. Haven't heard a note of the music, but things are already looking good:

I've been talking to the singer/guitarist of Sarkrista since before their first album came out. Never met, we just talk about black metal mostly. We've helped each other find a lot of good bands. He said not exactly sure on release date yet, but is sending me the rest of the album soon.

New Serpent Column outta be good too!

^ Kind of an obvious question, but what's the best option to get their albums here in the U.S.? My first inclination is CDJapan, but if there's a specific online vendor/distro/label/etc., or even just from the band itself, I'm definitely interested.

I pre-ordered it. It should be coming in the mail at some point this week.

I also pre-ordered the upcoming Metal Church and Sacrosanct albums.

I am looking forward to pre-order the new Mass Infection album when it drops.

If I remember correctly, I got the last one from Ebay and the other three from Amazon Japan. They tend to be pricey for CDs, which is typical for Japanese imports. It's possible there's a more affordable option. You're probably safe with any of the usual options (e.g. Amazon, Discogs, Ebay, CDJapan).

Any news on the new Elysian Blaze album? I got really excited when he busted out that new track earlier this year, but it appears he has fallen back into another lull :(

Looking around, it seems that the Skáphe art posted is just a new artwork for the "Untitled" EP vinyl pressing, unfortunately. I got quite excited for some new material (not like a vinyl pressing isn't exciting in itself however).

This was part of the Facebook post when the last track was posted
Quote:
To be clear, after years of unsucessfully tyring to record the follow up album to "Blood Geometry", I decided to focus my energies on recording and releasing a single track. As you may be aware, the material for the next full length album has been written for quite a few years now; I just need to record it. So instead of starting and re-starting the recording process with nothing to show for it, creating a single track has allowed me to finally share new music with you all. In this period of silence I've had to re-assess the ways in which I create and manifest the multiverse of Elysian Blaze. Being able to finally share new music is energising and strengthening. The prospect of recording a new album doesn't seem so daunting now, and my focus is now on finally completing that goal. Thank you for your patience. Kindest regards, ~M.

My reading of that is it's still a while off unfortunately

New song from Gotsu Totsu Kotsu. If you've liked anything else they've done, this should satisfy.

Great song and quite fun to listen to! Also nice to see them performing in traditional Japanese attire.

It's not cheap actually but as far as I can tell https://www.hmv.co.jp/en/ provides some excellent service and very fast shipping.

Wonder how people either already have their top 10 list finished or are waiting on a album to come out before it's done. The only album I think may usurp one of my top 10 is https://cloudsofficial.bandcamp.com/album/dor

Looks like my top 10 this year outside of one album will not be on anyone elses top 10.

Leonov's second album is due to be released next month. They're not quite metal, but more of a doom/post-rock vibe with metal undertones. Nonetheless, they're excellent and I'm mighty stoked for it.

New Dawn of Winter song, from their upcoming album:

Dawn of Winter - A Dream Within a Dream

Enjoyable, but nothing too spectacular, imo.

Nah, mate. The album is spectacular. Easily their best and most likely album of the year for me.

Well no one has any reason to send me an advance copy, so of course I haven't heard the whole thing yet. :-P But the song they posted just seemed like "been there, done that" to me.

Holy shit, new Chrome Waves?! That's not something I expected to read ever again. Their release from back in 2012 was one of my most listened to releases 2012-2013 and really kicked off my love for post black metal. Seems like the line-up is a little different on this release? Anyway, pretty exciting stuff!

The debut EP from Night Crown is crazy good. Melodic black/death with an epic/symphonic twist. I can't stop listening to it.

This has been out for a bit now, came out on the 30th of last month. Been listening and it's quite good. The VBE comparison is good because it is weird black metal without having anything overtly unusual for black metal.
