'Grand Morbid Funeral' was the best album Bloodbath ever released, so count me in.

Those are some Vader-ish titles, but at least they're cooler than "God=Dog".

Wow, didn't realize GMF was well-liked. I thought it was their weakest album, mostly because Nick's vocals feel so weak compared to their previous growlers. I'll definitely give it another spin soon since it's been a few years.

Loving the Dethklok-style stupid song names. Bloodbath have always had that slightly self-parodying air about them and it makes me really happy when they embrace it.

Very much looking forward to this one. Interesting about the guest spots but I'll be excited to hear a single. I loved Nick's vocals and mostly enjoyed what he carried on over into Paradise Lost after joining Bloodbath.

That lame artwork is a total mismatch for such a classy album title. What a wasted opportunity.

I like the artwork. I see what you mean about it not matching the title, but if we're speaking of classiness, then the artwork certainly wins out in that department.

You're not the only one. I'm suprised as well. When GMF came out I listened to it once and decided it wasn't worth it's own run-time. Weak vocals, and boring songs. Nightmares Made Flesh will forever reign supreme. Still, I'll give this new one a listen.

What's with the album covers and black stripes with the logo/album title nowadays? Isn't the new Behemoth the same thing?!

I think this one in particular is a little Coroner tribute.

Nice cover. Will buy blindly. More or less gave up reading songtitles and lyrics last century so they don't concern me. If I was in a band I'd be inclined to take the Grave Upheaval approach.

Cover is one thing, band pic is another. RIP Blakkheim's hairline.

I for one loved GMF so I want to hear more.

I love that cover art.
I won't lie, I lost a lot of interest in Bloodbath after Akerfeldt left (my favourite BB record is Resurrection Through Carnage) but I do really like GMF. Looking forward to this.

i never got too into this band, but actually rather dug Grand Morbid Funeral. Paradise Lost guy's vocals shouldn't have worked, but really, really did imo. might have to check this one out.

I love the nod to Coroner with the style of the cover art.

I've actually never heard GMF before. Yet I think The Fathomless Mastery is ace, so I'll probably check both out.

Unholy shit that new track fucking rips! Easily one of my favorite death metal songs this year. Ol' Nick sounds even better than on Grand Morbid Funeral and the production is awesome. You can definately hear the Craft influence in the guitars as well which is a big bonus since I love their latest albums. The part that starts around 01:38 made me cum blood!

According to Blabbermouth "Bloodicide" has a couple of guest growlers: Jeff Walker, Karl Willetts and John Walker (Cancer).

About the song titles I think it's pretty obvious that there's a lot of humor in there which is perfectly fine in my book. There are enough uptight death metal band that take themselves way to seriously.

Can't wait for the full album!

Yeah, it's a great track...Nick's vocals are fucking pheonmenal, he was such a great choice in my book. However, honestly not sure where John Walker's vocals are supposed to be...unless he's using a deeper vocal style now (I haven't watched any live videos to be honest). Karl sounds pretty good there, way better than what he's been doing with Memoriam at least.

Great song. Here's to hoping for a Bloodbath, Carcass, Cancer, Memoriam tour.

I really hate to have to be that guy, but that song title was based on something written by Crowley, so it isn't as juvenile as it may seem superficially

I really liked this. Anyone else getting some Edge of Sanity vibes from this track? Really dig it.

Yeah, I was going to say . It's a fucking horrible song title any way you slice it, no matter what the source material is.

On the first EP, the first album, "Brave New Hell", and "Eaten", sure, they certainly have a sense of humor. Other than that (and perhaps GMF which I've heard about once) they have more of a dramatic flair, and that's generally when they're at their best. "Cancer of the Soul" is still their best track.

First time listening to this band and I don't get what's the fuss about it. This is honestly the most sub par shit I've listened to in death metal this year. And judging by the overwhelming response to it its safe to conclude this is more or less their standard. Only good aspect are vocals and that's not surprising considering the person behind them. It seems nowadays having renowned people in your lineup is more important than doing decent music.

Man, this whole forum is so full of negativity lately. It's started to be a huge fucking bummer to browse here when everyone just wants to shit over other people's tastes and start pointless arguments about bands they don't even listen to in the first place.

To be fair, this has been a phenomenal year for death metal...so much awesome stuff from new(ish) bands like LIK, Skeletal Remains, Ghastly, Torture Rack, Burial Invocation...then old bands like Krisiun, Deicide, The Crown, all put out amazing material, with still more to come. Honestly, the only death metal album I thought was a little subpar was maybe the new At the Gates, and Memoriam the only one that flat out sucked. Otherwise it's been a fantastic year...but hey, that's just me :). Regardless, I'm really excited to hear Nick Holmes tear it up on the new Bloodbath, the album is sounding fantastic so far.

Wasn't impressed by the song, but the guitar tone sure is massive.
