In Ekaitz Garmendia's (from Extinction and ex Legen Beltza) Black Storm Studios:

Quote:

And next show:

As a fan of their old sound I am very cautious about this new album. At least I hope they eill let Eöl(from Elffor) introduce some atmospheric keys which I think it could work well with their current brutal sound.

That would be great, last Elffor album didn´t contain a lot of them, sadly.

Last Saturday they played two new songs and it seems that they will follow the same path of the last album. At least I hope they add some keys or arrangements to make them more interesting. New track were brutal but varied in pace.

I did forgot about this, sorry.
Two videos:

Sound was BAD (Jabo knew about it when we talked). Better during Necros Christos.

[BREAKING NEWS] After reissuing its last opus in 2011, we are glad to announce the release of NUMEN's fourth album, Iluntasuna Besarkatu nuen Betiko, on 27th September 2019.

Basque Country has always been at the very core of Numen's music, an anchoring point that has been shaping its robust and singular black metal. With Iluntasuna Besarkatu nuen Betiko, the band leads us once more away from our temporality and linguistic habits. What was just a listening session transforms into one harsh and impressive journey accross remote lands where we are merely tolerated by ancestral forces. A new opus fully in tune with Numen's extremly strong and uncompromising spirit.

Meanwhile, you can still listen to their eponymous album "Numen" :
- on Bandcamp: http://www.bitly.fr/9un
- on the usual musical streaming services
- and some tracks on our YouTube channel: http://www.bitly.fr/9uo

The new songs sound cool live and if I remember correctly the guy from Elffor didn't play in any of them. Here's hoping the new album doesn't have keyboards or any of his high pitched screams.

Eöl has been and is there:

2007 Numen Keyboards, Vocals

I think both you and PaganBasque will be something dissapointed since there'll be keyboards (although not in the old album's style) and high pitched vocals from Eöl.

NUMEN unveils a new track and the upcoming album artwork
Jun 6, 2019 | News

NUMEN’s new album “Iluntasuna besarkatu nuen betiko” will be out on September 27, 2019. We are proud to unveil the awesome artwork by Aghy Purakusuma as well as the first track of the album: “Iluntasuna soilik”

Numen is a Black Metal band from the Basque Country, inspired by the ancient beliefs of this region. The band is coming back in 2019 with a new ruthless opus bringing merciless and epic songs that carry us to primal cold ages and their dark pathless lands. These anthems written in Basque, the oldest language in Western Europe, simply explode at our faces as loud as it gets.

Pure BASQUE CULT BLACK METAL without compromise since 1997

About “Iluntasuna besarkatu nuen betiko”

Basque Country has always been at the very core of Numen’s music, an anchoring point that has been shaping its robust and singular black metal. With “Iluntasuna Besarkatu nuen Betiko”, the band leads us once more away from our temporality and linguistic habits. What was just a listening session transforms into one harsh and impressive journey accross remote lands where we are merely tolerated by ancestral forces. A new opus fully in tune with Numen’s extremly strong and uncompromising spirit.

This second track is much more interesting, that guitar melody in the middle is awesome and pleasently surprising. I wish the arrangements would be louder though...

This third song has some interesting details, I am still feel fustrasted because having Eöl they should use him more, some keys would be welcome and more audible. Still I think it Will be a very good album.

It is clear that the album's artwork and the music have nothing in common. This is a pure blast fest with less epic, folk or anything varied included than in any other release. Its only the first listen and I Will give it another one during this weekend but I have 0 expectations with this album.

12 years since (2007) Numen - Numen (which was already like you described), what did you expect? Enjoy it for what it's but old Numen is long gone.

P.S: Album is available in the BandCamp.

Yes, it was like what I have described but at least had two tracks(4 and 5) whose second halfs were very interesting, more epic, melodic and with some fok touches. This new one has even less and I would save only one song. I mean, its a good BM album, but it could be much more than this.

And well, you have Eöl, a super talented musician, and you are under using it, seriously, ,its a nonsense.

These guys played in my town many years ago, with a drum machine as the drummer quit just before the tour, or something. I'll check it out.

I do agree they lost their old (folky) magic but have evolved into another thing (a generic modern black metal band).

Was it in this show?

They were using pre recorded drums tracks and the CD player was skipping because of the stage vibrations. :P

Nope. I can't remember who else was on, but it was just a local 'rock night' in a small Valencian town :D
I think there was about five of us watching. That was the usual crowd for these things, no wonder they scrapped it a few years later.

Ok, they played here but I HATE those local fests (and don't like Primordial despite having seem them live some times):
