Hi guys,

For a couple of years, I've been trying to track down the name of a heavy / viking metal song that I've heard, loved, and forgot the name of.

The outro is amazing, and for memory, has these elements:

Sounds kiiinda like Amon Amarth.
Fairly sure it has flute.
Possibly has some synth, too.
The vocals sound kinda like chanting.
Rolling bass drum during the outro.
Strangely, the login screen music to Final Fantasy XIV Online reminds me of
the song - https://youtu.be/4Yvku87BlHE

I've been struggling to find this by googling, and I've spent many hours on Spotify, with no luck.

Any suggestions are welcome!

Thanks!

check the comments under the video :) it's a very rough rendition of the "you are my sunshine" vocal melody... https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/You_Are_My_Sunshine

Several years ago I recorded this song from the radio in a cassette, now I have recorded it in my phone, so there would be a lot of noise due to the speakers; but the language is unkown to me, that makes me difficult to find it using the lyrics. A friend of mine told me it's not arab (she's from Egypt). I think I've heard the word "shedashe" or something like that, I think it's like "demon" in aramaic but not sure. Please visit this link to listen to it

Can't for the life of me remember anything about a song other than the fact that I liked it and the album art.

White background; a silhouette of a grinning man (the grin is white to contrast with the black of the silhouette) with fire hair and no eyes (I think); only his head and shoulders are in frame, and he might be wearing a suit?

Was either melodic death metal, metalcore, or something of a mix of both.

Death Metal Underground on Facebook posted a video maybe seven or eight years ago of some album in its entirety. It was ostensibly death metal, at least as far as that page described it, but I didn't get to listen to much beyond the first track. It had a really ethereal/echoing/underwater effect on the vocals, and I remember the album cover was the Sun, I believe. Every now and then I think back and wonder what that album was, I'd like to listen to the full thing some day.

^ I have no idea, but my ears are now bleeding. A warning for headphone users...

I have a question about Eldamar's song "Spirit of the North". Around 9:30 begins a riff that sounds so familiar to me. It reminds me of DSBM, and I could have swore I had heard it on a Thy Light track or Austere, but I cannot find it... any help? Does it ring any bell for anyone else?

Looking for a band that debuted sometimes in the late '80s, started out as a hair metal/melodic hard rock/metal/AOR band, but became more of a heavy/power metal act later on. It's not Axxis, but I think they're from Germany as well. Does anyone know what am I thinking of?

I'm trying to think of a band, and it's driving me absolutely insane. They are some variation of brutal/tech death. I remember their name is one word, I THINK it start's with an "I" but that could be totally wrong. They have a few albums, the most recent of which that I know of has an album cover that is a woman with an hourglass, there's a lot of blood, she might be weeping the blood, all I remember is that there's blood and a woman/angel/statue with an hourglass. The name is incredibly legible for the genre too, like it was very basic text. If memory serves me correct the album ends with a song that has a very eerie heavy breakdown with keys. If anyone knows what the fuck I'm talking about, please help me, this shit is driving me wild.

Hello! Please help to determine what is this group? Around 1995, a friend gave me an audio cassette. There was 30 minutes of music on the tape, it's the first song https://yadi.sk/d/Hiex3alc3aSkQd (sound quality is unfortunately poor).

No longer relevant. I found out - it's Drifter "Nowhere to Hide". Thank you all! https://www.metal-archives.com/albums/Drifter/Nowhere_to_Hide/

I'm looking for some folk/black metal album (it might have been an EP) from the late 90s/early 2000s. The cover is a poorly drawn wolf in winter, it's sort of a monochrome teal. I think it wasn't in English. Anyone have any idea?

I'm sure this describes 50 things though lol

Two band questions.

First-A band I think who's song was on an 80's soundtrack had a song called D.I.E. (death in excess). What band did this song? The cover of their album had a front door on it to some house or something? I swear the band's name had holloween in it or something?

Second-There was some band that dressed up like they were out of the Warhammer roleplaying game back in the day. Not the 40K one either. The more D&D one. Had war banners and stuff on stage too. I thought their band name was Saddas or something but cannot find them anywhere online no matter how I try to word their band name?

Thanks.

Are you thinking of Sabbat (UK)? They had a Games Workshop/Warhammer connection, and released the Blood For The Blood God flexi 7" with White Dwarf magazine.

Sounds like volkolak's first album

Manegarm's debut fits your description as well except for the poorly drawn bit

Hallows Eve. Their song "Lethal Tendencies" appeared on the 1986 River's Edge motion picture soundtrack, and they also have a song called D.I.E. (Death in Effect).

I'm trying to find an instrumental song by some 80's metal band. It's was like a cover of a classical song or multiple classical songs and I think it was the first or second song of whatever album it's from. The band is either speed metal or heavy metal (not shred metal), and the band might have been Spanish or French. I thought it was Baron Rojo, but I couldn't find it.

Dark Moor - Vivaldi's Winter
Try that one, it might be what you're looking for. They are power metal band from Spain

Can anyone here help me out finding this song? No luck on shazam and the forums take longer. Has a Reagan "rendezvous with destiny" speech sampled near the end. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gEDbGosNPMc

I'm looking for a album that I'd forgotten about for years. This one is kind of vague because I'm not positive that any of the details I'm about to give are accurate. But here goes:

I believe they're from the Pacific Northwest or Canada.

I believe they play Agalloch-style metal. Or at least somewhat similar to the Cascadian style of BM. [This could be entirely inaccurate. They definitely play black metal and employ some acoustic instruments.]

The album cover was blue, possibly with a green hue. I think it featured water and possibly a ship.

If I had to guess, I'd say the album came out between 2005 and 2010.

Fingers crossed this is sufficient information.

If you knew the stories about Velvet Cacoon, it would make absolute sense, though replace alcohol with dextromethorphan

Sounds a lot like Motorhead, here is the game video I cut the samle. from: (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WpGa9qDvKcM). It looks like first 3 songs are from the same band. But definetly it's not a Sinister Haze as YouTube says under the video. Maybe just the last one.

Hi everyone.
I am trying to figure out something about two songs, that has been stuck in my head for probably 20 years, and i have tried google, and youtube, but nothing was found

I believe i got this tape around 1992/93, so of course the music is released before 1992/1993.

So how to describe the songs, the first one is instrumental, it starts with a bass played pretty fast, sound like he uses two fingers and plays maybe 2-3 different chords, this goes on for maybe 10-15 seconds, maybe more, bear in mind i haven´t heard the band in over 20 years.

Second song, starts with the melody Taps ( the one played at funerals in the U.S for army men, or so)
I cant remember for how long, but all of the sudden the band comes in.

Now while writing, i remember a third song i haven´t been able to find, but it was also on that tape, and it starts with you can hear rain and tunder, which get interrupted by horses riding by, and there after the song starts.

I would be so grateful and happy if some one can point me in the right direction.

On BATHORY's "A Fine Day to Die"

So, this may sound weird to some, but... I remember I did read an interview with Quorthon in which he stated that, contrary to popular believe on this song being about vikings, it was actually inspired by the native american indians at war against the European invasion of their land.

Now, that the Lakota Sioux leader Crazy Horse famously exhorted his troops "Hokahey, today is a good day to die!" Which meant something like "Let's go men, today is a good day to die!" is well known, but... Can anybody help me find out the Quorthon quote / interview?

Can you give us an idea of genres to help narrow things down? Were they death, thrash, black, heavy metal etc.?
