So, I got Massacra's Signs of the Decline. It was re-issued in 2006 - another weird one. For some reason they decided to put 6 tracks from the Sick album as bonus songs. Why? It's almost as lame as the Demolition Hammer 3 in 2 set.

i honestly dont see anything wrong with reissues, due to the fact in my cases gets me into an old album that i have drained years ago due to the newer fresher sound. sometimes you gotta accept ideas and ppl like dave mustaine could give a crap if you think it sucked, for one of you there are hundreds who dont mind it. although i do agree rust in peace is a setback but the rest a fine.

I've yet to meet a person who doesn't think that the Megadeth remasters (except for KIMB) are total shit. The atmosphere that was on Peace Sells was gone in the remaster, and don't get me started on the RIP remaster.. honestly, sometimes I feel that these musicians are clueless about what's good and what's bad.

I find the Peace Sells remaster fine, it has plenty of atmosphere. That said, I visually connect a lot of albums to their cover art so that may be why, and I also haven't heard the original.

But then, MegaHassan has terrible taste in music, so the remasters are probably better. ;)

Yeah right, listen to the original and you'll find out where the remaster lacks.

Also, it's better to have a "bad" taste than no taste at all :P

I generally agree, but on this he's absolutely right. The remasters are shit.

There are a couple of Exciter albums that were re-mastered in 2005 on Megaforce. Are these better than the SPV re-issues from '99? How do they compare? I'm sure someone on here has these.

Damn I just got the 1999 Century Media reissue of Bonded By Blood today after having mp3's of this album but never owning it before (filthy poseur I know) and the remastering of this is fucking annoying. It's louder which is good as the original was really quiet, but the guitars sound a bit warmer/heavier and not as sharp and lethal as they were on the original. Lame.
