Mudvayne - Cradle

Mudvayne's L.D. 50 is damn cool. One of the first heavy albums I ever bought. Some pretty twisted songs on there, like "Dig" and "Nothing To Gein." I don't even mind the interludes, and I reckon it's part of the album's charm.

Agreed, i'm no nu metal fan but that album is pretty damn great, and no one should feel ashamed of liking it.

Wow, first time listen and I'm completely and utterly hooked. It's like... Warning with heavy guitars!

Motorhead - Asylum Choir

Probably one of the more catchy numbers on March or Die, although the album is solid throughout, if you ask me.

I honestly have no idea what people see in this band. I feel like I'm listening to a long intro to something... that never comes.

Try (2001) Summoning - Let Mortal Heroes Sing Your Fame first. That's my personal favourite.

On the Verge of the Worlds (Prologue) from (2006) Munruthel - Epocha Vodoleya.
Quite similar to Nokturnal Mortum.

I agree with BasqueStorm - Start with that album, specifically the song "Farewell" and the rest will happen from there, or at least, that's what happened for me.

I'm going to listen to it now, I think.

So is 'Oath Bound' just not a good album of theirs then? I got it about a year ago, and it just does nothing for me. Still, I want to like Summoning, so I'll take your advice and check out 'Let Mortal Heroes Sing Your Fame'. Thanks!

Nah, Oath Bound is an awesome album, not sure you'll like their other stuff if you don't like it. Perhaps check their earlier material? Minas Morgul and Nightshade Forests are awesome.

I think it's the most "balanced" album.

(2006) Summoning - Oath Bound is a good album but it got boring pretty fast for me.
P.S: Fuck! Last Summoning album is from 2006?!?

Purgatorium from (2012) Sigh - In Somniphobia.
Dr. Mikannibal's vocals are the shit! I remember when we saw Sigh (and her!) at Hellfest 2010! Burning bibles while covered in blood and with some angel wings in her back! Amazing!

Virgin Steele - Mind, Body, Spirit, off Invictus

"RISE! On the wings of truth!
To the Sun we know, that forever lives..... INSIIIIIIIIIIIIIDE!!!

In his heyday, DeFeis was one of the most triumphant sounding vocalists in all of metal. His voice bled courage and conviction.

There is some pretty groovy guitar work on this song.
