Cancer - Tasteless Incest

Pummeling old school death/thrash with crushing riffs and potato sack blastbeats, good shit!

Dark Funeral - Hail Murder

"Norsecore" is fun, dammit.
Sometimes you just want to be beaten over the head with blastbeats, and, well... it certainly works well for that.

Absolutely gritty, ballsy, essential heavy/power/thrash stuff.

I was just listening to this last night. Bought it on tape when it came out. I was curious about them at the time because of the Metallica / John Marshall connection. Cool album. Been a fan since then. Damn, Howe was a great singer.

Immortal - Tragedy Blows At Horizon

A YT channel is spinning the vinyl. Cooling the day down a bit.

ZZ Top - Beer Drinkers & Hell Raisers, Live in Germany - Rockpalast 1980

RIP to the dusty man. This live version of the song is pure heavy metal

Meat and potatoes old school death metal that riffs hard, even if the solos are trash

Necrofier - The Black Flame Burns

Swedish melodic black metal from the heart of Texas. Really looking forward to this album (and debut full length from Malignant Altar who share members with this band).

Orphaned Land - Mabool - The Story Of The Three Sons Of Seven

I'm really only familiar with their first 2 albums. Probably should check out their other stuff soon.

Negura Bunget - Om

Really strange album you don't come across this kind of record everyday.

All their early 90s stuff was so damn good.

Tad Morose - No Wings to Burn

This and some pecan rum is a decent end to a night thus far.

Uriah Heep - Whad'ya Say

This song has almost kind of a disco beat in it. Very catchy.

Slipknot - The Blisters Exists

Paying tribute to an absolute legend. One of the best use of drums in my opinion!

Cradle of Filth - Dusk and Her Embrace

Well, they have a new single coming out tomorrow and since I'm pretty hyped about that, I've decided to put on their best album.
Great atmosphere, great lyricism and great songwriting.

Nifelheim - Black Curse

Bestial black/thrash, man this is sick stuff!

This MDF run through is going to get interesting once I get to Frizzi 2 Fulci

Iron Maiden - Moonchild

Their last two 80s albums were really a case of a band just totally making its own sound and identity, bigger than any genre or anything.

The Edgar Winter Group - They Only Come Out at Night

Great stuff on this album, there's much more to enjoy than just Frankenstein and Free Ride although those are killer tracks.

Amon Amarth - Coming of the Tide

Just AA doing what they do, which I enjoy lately. I think this is my second favorite album after their debut.

Slough Feg - Laser Enforcer

Killer track, love all the little shifts throughout. Digital Resistance and Ape Uprising are by my estimation the two most underrated Slough Feg records.

It makes me kind of sad that my current playlist features a lot of now dead vocalists....

Metal Church - Killing Your Time
Sanctuary - Arise and Purify
Bodom After Midnight - Paint the Sky With Blood
Dio - Master of the Moon

Meh... :-/

Siderean - Lost On Void's Horizon

This kind of half-thrash, semi-death stuff is good. Keep up the ambiguity.

Pharaoh - Dying Sun

Not sure how this will stack up against their last two albums overall but I have played it pretty much every day since it came out and more than anything else this year by far.

This is (unfortunately) a grim reality we'll all be facing in the coming years. :ugh:

Helloween - Indestructible

An enjoyable cut from a good but not great album. For a band this deep into their career its as much as I can expect though.

Got Firm Grip of the Roots from them. Seriously good stuff. Strange, but good. Haven't listened to it in ages.

Necrophagia - The Divine Art Of Torture

I didn't like this when I got it back in '03, hated the keyboards and to be honest I wanted Holocausto 2. But time has softened my stance towards keyboards and I'm enjoying this a lot.

Nocturnus - Destroying the Manger

Probably the first death metal band to make extensive use of keyboards and to have science fiction themes.

Absolutely love this style of death metal :metal:

Bolt Thrower - Icon

There's really something quite cool about the aggressive yet somber tone of all this. Every note just feels so important and intense. Might just define what DM can be really.

Roadrunner United - Annihilation by the Hands of God

The death metal song on the album, and it fucking RULES.

Cradle of Filth - Tragic Kingdom

I feel like a lot of what they did between '03 and '12 was kinda mixed, but I do think "Godspeed on the Devil's Thunder" is an all around solid album, though it took some time to grow on me. That cover art though... youch.

Kiss - Black Diamond

The closing part where the song slows down and down and down is legit kinda scary.

Exhorder - Slaughter In The Vatican

Brutal thrash that borders on being death metal at times. An absolute punch in the face.

Psychotic Waltz - Demystified

I'll be really curious to hear whatever might beat this for album of the decade.

FINALLY out on Spotify, no more XXV versions of Blood of Kingu or Silent Empire. Peter's vocals are just punishing.
