Cain's Offering - "Rising Sun"

Sonatavarius rewrites "San Sebastian" and it's not too bad, actually. Timo's voice still hasn't aged well for me, but the music makes me oh so nostalgic.

Good one. I keep going back to this band and while both albums have problems, there's nothing quite like it in power metal I think even though I do appreciate the name Sonatavarius

I freely stole it from interstellar_medium, who I heard it first from. Dunno the earliest origin, but it's so perfect. I like "Stratovarctica" too.

You can also add "Rhap-" (or "(c)Rhap-" if feeling vicious) in front to make an even more glorious epic majectic efferverscent ostinato (salad) machine =D

NP: Soulgrind - Kalma
Yeah one of those (amazing) bands so few remember... Shame they have only a handful of tracks in Finnish.

Lana Del Rey - ULTRAVIOLENCE

Some skippable moments but a solid album overall.

Project Arcadia - Here to Learn

This and Threshold - For the Journey were really emblematic of that autumn/winter 2014 time for me. Really takes me back. This stuff is good for a breezy kind of overcast day.

Loving Pan-Amerikan Native Front lately, everything about their music and aesthetic is very appealing.

Iron Reagan - Bleed the Fifth

Me liking the most recent album from Iron Reagan. If it can be believed, it's more energetic than Tyranny of Will.

Alkaline Trio - This Could Be Love

The fanbase was split on the "Good Mourning" album when it came out, though everyone seems to have come around to it nowadays. "Agony & Irony" is the one everyone seems to hate now. Anyway, Skiba was sick during the recording process if I remember right, so his voice has a raspy sound to it on here that's not on any of their other albums. I think that adds to the morbid (but oh so catchy!) sound they were going for, making it even better.

Possessed - No More Room in Hell

Still love it - they really nailed the classic style guitar sound and managed to write a bunch of excellent goddamn songs.

St. Vincent - Masseduction

This is a really well done piece of pop/rock. Exquisite songwriting and brilliant lyrics.

Propagandhi - Hate, Myth, Muscle, Etiquette

I feel like I should like their later albums better, but I dunno... I just prefer their first two. Guess I just like this band at their most punk, though I'm certainly not complaining about the metal influence they added in later on. Everything they've done is good!

Japanese heavy/speed metal, a.k.a Painkiller 2.0! The best way to start a day.

Possessed - Revelations of Oblivion

To commemorate Mr. Beccera's physical progress and because it's simply a fantastic album from end to end. :np:

Dodheimsgard - A Umbra Omega.
Avant Garde Black Metal from Norway at it's best. The good news is the band will record a new album very very soon.

Sentenced - Amok Run

These guys write an entire album in this style. This completely blows Amok out of the water and although it's getting more Maiden-esque, certainly, it still retains that intensity to it that reminds me of North from Here.

Converge - I Can Tell You About Pain

This is such a wrecking ball of an album and band. They get great, abrasive tones and just write some truly twisted alien shit.

Archgoat - Sodomator of the Doomed Venus

Always will have a soft spot for Archgoat, and have been giving them a lot of playtime in order to prepare for the new full-length dropping later this year. They're like comfort food for the ears for me.

Words cannot express how fucken pumped I am for that new album to come out. Archgoat are definitely a staple for Black/Death fans
