An EP rather than full length but Gorguts' last release Pleiades' Dust is excellent.

It's 33 minutes, close enough! I found myself enjoying this more than the comeback album, and Patrice on drums was also a nice addition.

Agreed. I actually liked it way more than Colored Sands, which I felt was a bit too long for its own good.

It's not in the archives, but Inde$troy by Saw Throat (Sore Throat) is a one track monster of an album of industrial metal infused crust punk.

Dream Theater - the second disc of Six Degrees of Inner Turbulance. IMO their absolute peak

I still have mixed feelings about this one. I think it needed to either be cut down to 20 minutes or expanded to 40. Some of the movements of the song are either too short or end too abruptly and then there's an ambient section at the 20 minutes mark that completely kills the mood for the second part of the song in my opinion. The first 20 minutes are so much better than the last 10. The highs are definitely better than Colored Sands and it's much more abstract and interesting but the structure is disjointed and there's nothing tying all the parts of the song that justifies it being a single 30 minutes song as opposed to just being short songs put together.

To sum up, I think an even better re-arranged 40-45 minutes album with two long songs could have been made with the material that was used for the EP.
