God bless Ozzy but this is just awful. The end of the song was not bad instrumentally, but the verses and especially the pre-chorus are just horrendous.

I haven't bought a new Ozzy album since Ozzmosis in '95 and that streak is unlikely to end, but I thought this new song was good, certainly not awful or horrendous. Interesting selection of guest guitarists too. Makes me curious what the rest of it will be like.

This track is really bad, and the album is likely going to be as well. I'm still excited to check out the Iommi tracks though.

Eh. Could have been ok with a better guitar tone and a stronger chorus. As it is it's just sort of "there". Beck's guitar is nice. All those voices at the start are utterly stupid.

Kudos to whoever thought that Photoshop job is good enough for the cover.

This song is awful. It started out okay but it's the exact same thing dragged on for 7 minutes with some awkwardly-placed twists. Also, what's with all of the featured artists? It's like with Ordinary Man; Tom Morello, Slash, Charlie Puth, Travis Scott and fucking Post Malone of all people are featured on that record for some reason. I don't think it's possible to not like Ozzy as a showman but his more recent work is just so out of touch and bland. When it gets to the point where featured artists are doing more work on your album than you and your band members on your *solo* project, maybe it's time to hang up the trench coat and the golden bat necklace.

It pains me to say this because I really do love Ozzy, but like most Ozzy songs this would be much better with someone else singing.

Quality of Ozzy's music went downhill once he relied on Zakk Wylde as his writer, needs a decent composer in the band like Daisley

Sounds better than the last album anyway. His voice is obviously shot, but the song's at least a pretty standard old school kind of metal tune. Some decent laid back rocking guitars and epic structure.

The songwriting is strong - keeps you wondering what's going to happen next and where the melody is going - but I wish there were an 80s hair metal production and hair metal guitars.

The cover: What's he doing there? Chewing a cookie?

I like this more than anything off Ordinary Man so it has that going for it.

There's no metal on this track. I haven't bought or heard any album from Ozzy since Ozzmosis. There are occasions when I'm tempted to make a purchase but when I hear tracks like this, it reminds me to stay away.

Just because it isn't metal doesn't automatically make it bad. Though with this particular track, I still can't blame you for avoiding modern Ozzy.

Jeff Beck is the most impressive thing on this track.

Ozzy will always own a place in my heart; he was probably THE crucial part of my formative metal years and I so just can't bring myself to rip on the guy. But, I mean, lets face it- he's over seventy years old. And by all accounts, he is showing his age, too- with all the accompanying health problems.

But: Kudos to him for still being able to create, to still do what he loves which is make music, for the people he loves, which is guys like me. Like with a lot of people, most of his newer material doesn't really excite me the way his earlier stuff did, and this track doesn't exactly make me want to go run out and buy this album or anything. It's a more laid back, introspective kind of track, much like a lot of the newer stuff is, but, I dunno- he can't be a 35 year old madman of rock at age 75, I guess. And Jeff Beck's a fine guitarist in his own right, though his playing here is a bit bland.

I'm looking forward to the Iommi tracks. I wonder if it will just feature him for a solo, or the songs will be written by him. Any chance to hear the riff master himself churn out magic is something worth hearing. He did a perfume commercial not too long ago, and the song was pretty solid!

And yeah, this song was awful. I didn't expect anything else.

You folks complaining about the vocal tuning must not have heard literally any other song with clean singing on it released in the last 20 years. It's a pretty standard amount of tuning.

Man, this song sounds really bad, timbre-wise. The whole mix sounds like there's a blanket thrown over it. The drums, especially the snare, are too compressed yet simultaneously don't stand out enough. For once on a metal song, the bass is too loud and I can barely make out what the guitars are doing. It sounds like a dance music producer mixed it.

Ozzy confirmed a little while ago that Tony wrote and recorded a song for the album, so at least one of them should be Iommi penned.

It's not the tuning itself, it's its amount and noticeability. I don't buy it that it is some intentional production decision to have a more "modern" sound, it's that the singer is old and not in a condition suitable for recording, and that is hopefully not the standard practice of clean singing these days.

Should be some good ones with Zack and Tony doing them, but the cover is terrible. Huge missed opportunity for a Mcfarlane cover.

At least the guitars don't sound as farty/honking as they did in Under the Graveyard, though that might be because Jeff Beck is on the track too. I presume that Duff and Chad Smith are still doing the rhythm section but its going to be so processed that anyone could be doing rhythm.

There's another new song coming out this Friday. It'll be one of the Iommi tracks (Degradation Rules). A 16 second clip has been posted on Sabbath's Facebook page.

I'm gonna wait until Friday for the single to come out instead of spoiling it now. Here's to me hoping that Iommi can bring some goodness in the overbearing staleness of the album that I predict will happen.

Hopefully Tony gets to have some direction on the songwriting in general given how mediocre Andrew Wyatt's songs seem to be.

I know people are focusing on the autotune a lot, but yeah, I noticed it almost immediately. He sounds halfway to T-Pain. I also agree the production is really weird - it's mixed like a pop song, not rock or metal.

This isn't for me and I'll probably skip out on it when it releases, but I'll never tell Ozzy he can't keep making music. He's earned the ability to do whatever he wants a hundred times over.
