I think everyone saw Ripped to Shreds going somewhere, Andrew is great at writing songs that stay faithful to the Swedeath canon without feeling remotely derivative.

Not sure I agree with that, as the last album was super generic HM-2 worship to my ears. The grindcore influences here are really promising, and that solo was amazing, but this song should have been half the length instead of just repeating the exact same parts over and over.

Fucking DOPE. Luan was one of the best metal records of 2020 and this new track completely slays. Can't wait.

Yeah I think the debut blew the last album out of the water. First was super exciting but the followup felt like a textbook sophomore slump. Definitely looking forward to this anyway because the skill is obviously there.

For my money each new one has been a step up. Don't really understand what was "better" about the first one- it had more leads and melodic parts which I guess is stylistically cool but the actual songwriting and riffing have gotten better, and the performances especially between the debut and Luan are night and day. The drums are so edited on the original that they're basically just programmed and the vocals are weak. I love that album but it blows my mind that people think that Luan was in any way a step down.

New Ripped to Shreds? Fuck yeah, count me in. I saw them at NWTF this year and they were amazing.

They were amazing at Terror Fest for sure! First time seeing them as a four piece and adding a second guitar made a big difference.

They indeed ripped at NWTF. Had a great time meeting Andrew and Mike, just overall a great band. I just made my preorder for the new album, gotta support the homies/bandmates!

Probably worth disclosing you're friends with the band and appeared on the first album...

I do run a label with him and it's in my signature, I figured that was enough! Besides, I can still have strong feelings- I think a lot of my friends' bands sorta suck and they (mostly) know who they are ;)

While we're talking about the first album, I didn't love Andrew's vocals at the time (though he's gotten a lot better and the vocals on that album have grown on me a bit) and I tried to talk him into just getting a vocalist for it. He's gotten a lot better though!

It was a lot fun. I played with Drawn and Quartered the next day and had a blast. Really well run festival.

That was a great set, man! I had never heard of you guys before but after the show, I went to your merch booth and nabbed a cassette. Seattle is a pretty cool city.
