I tried to get it to write In Flames song lyrics last month when it first released. I even recorded it with actual instrumentation and vocals. My thoughts on it are: it's pretty crazy, but as a lyricist it can only really turn out generic, cliched stuff.

I agree that ChatGPT is impressive, but there is clearly little artistic merrit in the subject matter and the way it's conveyed. ChatGPT also seems to not really grasp the concept of allegory or metaphore, so every lyric usually comes across very superficial.

First, I had it write lyrics for Metallica's upcoming album "72 Seasons", and it came up with a song called Eternal Winter.


And just for shits and giggles, I had it write a Cradle of Filth song, but with the lyrics being about sandwiches. The song is titled "Sandwiched in Darkness".
