Wondering if anyone can help me identify an unknown power metal song I've been look for for almost 2 years. It was posted to the website WatZatsong, with no information about it, other than it was listed as "Japanese". I'm fairly sure the song is in all English, but some of the lyrics are still really hard to make out. I gave it the placeholder title "I'll give you life", off of what was the only lyric I could hear at the time.
I've done so much searching for it and have come up with nothing. Hoping someone here can help solve this. Here's the song: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o_CkLgz_O1c
Thank you.

Not 100% sure but maybe it's Vantasma - Trial of a King. They are either Japanese or from Thailand. If I got it right, dude, update man!

Cheers,
Greg.

Which band is this?

Somone gave me this shirt but I dont wear extreme metal tshirts so I gave it to a friend of mine and he wants to listen to the band but I don't know the logo. I guess it is a DM band.

Per Google Lens: it says "Kranxdesign". Here's a link to the shirt on Redbubble. Not a band, just a clothing brand.

Oh wow. I wasn't expecting that twist. It figures because a person who is unrelated to metal gave it to me as a gift. It's ok though, the friend I gave the shirt to doesn't listen to metal as well. Thank you for your help and reply! Cheers!

It looks like it says "Hustler - Hardcore Since 74" maybe referring to Hustler magazine?

https://decessofdoom.bandcamp.com/album/decesso

6:30 into the first track, that is lifted from another band's song. I'm wracking my brain trying to figure out who though, and once I do I will smack my head because it would have been obvious. My gut tells me Saturnus though. Here's a bigger and more important question: Does this band rip off anyone else? Because if there is a pattern of plagiarism here, might be worth investigating.

Edit: It's taken from Suvn by Skumring.

I still wonder what else they may have lifted.

Second edit: Well, enough for me to want this band to be nuked.

Stumbled across this Holy Diver/funk mash up. Anyone know what it is? Took me a while before I realised there was something different about it.

I know this is super vague but I'm trying to find a band/album that was completely instrumental with an electronic feel IIRC. The album was in black and white I believe and it was from around 2011/2012 or a bit earlier.

That does sound quite a bit similar in some aspects if it was less electronicky! It was definitely earlier than them and not in the electronic metal genre, more thrashy I think. It's been 10+ years so I might have all of this wrong in any case.

EDIT: I just remembered there were also a bunch of numbers as letters in the names of the songs/band.

I'm looking for a thrash metal band whose vocalist sounds like Jeff Becerra of Possessed I can't remember their name.

I'm confused. So it had "an electronic feel" but wasn't "in the electronic metal genre"? Can you elaborate?

Do you have a more specific time frame? That is, was the band contemporaries of Possessed (late 1980s) or were they a more recent band?

Patrick from Pestilence, and Marcus Grewe from Morgoth were two late 80s/early 90s vocalists who were inspired by Possessed's vocals, and were often compared to Jeff Becerra.

Yeah, mid to late 80s. It wasn't Morgoth or Pestilence, I know that for sure as I know both bands. I also think that they were more straight thrash than Death/Thrash like the above stated bands. Could be wrong though.

Could it have been one of the Quebec bands- Yog Sothots or Voor, perhaps? Both have growling vocalists that appear to have been influenced by Possessed.

I'm certainly curious. Description sounds almost like an early 90s Earache release, but that doesn't even remotely fit the timeline. Hmm.

Was it Oneohtrix Point Never's "Replica" album? Pretty sure it's electronic stuff, and came out around 2011.

Deleted in January for being mostly ambient.

Worm posted a collage on several black metal demos on their Instagram Story. Does anyone recognize where this image came from? I feel like I recall seeing this before, but I can't put my finger to it.

A friend of mine is looking for an album he downloaded from Limewire like 15 years ago. Released around the late 90's or early 00's, from a small band with few releases (possibly even just this one album which would've been their first). Melodic power metal (or maybe heavy/power). He described the singer as a carbon copy of Dio, singing in rough English. The cover supposedly had a blue sky with clouds, cheesy 90's CGI, and some kind of animal like a lion or eagle.

The closest we got in terms of covers were these two, so it should look something like this:

I'm looking for a presumably pretty young female-fronted death / doom-death / blackened death-doom band.

The only thing I remember about them is a stunning brownish / blueish / greyish album cover artwork depicting a flooded church or temple / waves smashing church walls or something like that. It seemed to be their debut album.

Not much information but maybe…

Thanks! Unfortunately not, as far as I remember, the motif is quite different: the viewer is inside the building to be exact, and the album's quite current, i.e. released within the last five or six years. Sorry for the late answer.

Mgla or Grá have albums that include sax or trumpet? I remember listened to a band similar to Mgla or Grá but with a wind instrument (could even be the ones mentioned but I don't remember).

Does anyone know? Probably a Long Island band, '70s/'80s. "Jimmy, Take A Ride" is the only lyric I understand in the song.

Hi, I'm trying to remember two albums/bands from the thrash/crossover genre. I know one has a painted cover of a jester with a chessboard etc, with the a track titled "(something)...monopoly." The other band's album has artwork depicting children entering a giant anthropomorphic tree's mouth, whose eyes are staring down at them... Uunfortunately I can't rememeber anything else from these bands, but would love to find them ... Any help would be greatly appreciated!! Thank you

RIFFANATIC wrote:
Hi there,

I am looking for an album of a Death Metal / Grindcore band I heard once in a second hand store many years ago, circa 1993 to 1998.

The only thing I can remember is that there was a really funny fake satanic intro with evil sounds, animals in the background (goats etc.) and funny german bad language. One sentence was something like "ich will in deine moese spritzen" which translates roughly to "I want to cum in your pussy". The style of the intro was a bit similar to the samples Impaled Nazarene uses on "Tol Cormpt Norz Norz Norz", especially the goats.

I don't even think that this was even a german band, because there was a heavy accent on the words.

I know this is not that much of information, but maybe anyone can remember this band or album. It has to be released before 1993, because that's the year I really got into metal and had never heard such music before.

Oh, it's not Pungent Stench, btw.

the first descr made me think of the mordred debut:

Image

but it doesnt have a song with monopoly in the title.

so here's a search of songs on the archives that do:

I've found them! Thanx to this post on the "Now Playing" thread. The band name is Venom Prison, and the cover seems to have morphed into something that differs from my memory of it. There are no waves smashing church walls anymore but only waves threatening to smash church walls. Naughty artwork! Now, let's see if the music's any good.
