The Delorean one seems fine, but the Anwynn one is sure something

New band addition Dark Site.

Released in 2011

One of the worst thrash covers I've ever seen. Kinda makes you wonder whether the grass is always greener on the other site... I mean side.

That looks like Death Angel's first two album covers combined.

I mentioned Al Namrood in the "bands you put off" thread I recently made, and that also brought me here - seriously, what the absolute fuck is this???

When will people learn that putting color text in black and white-heavy images makes the text unreadable?

I think it's exactly because they worked that out that they keep doing it :D

and the cover is not an atrocity, at least not in the terms we use for this thread. it's disgusting, naive, etc. but well drawn.

It reminds me of a Berserk panel, although not nearly as good. But not an atrocity by any means.

Whatever it is, it kicks fucking ass. Theocracy sucks(they are from Saudi Arabia)!

Edit: I listened to the album, while lifting weights. It’s not typical goat(or pig, in this case) metal. Has catchy folk metal melodies, what sounds like microtonality(maybe I’m mistaken, but it sounds like it), and great use of hand drums, and other non-traditional metal instruments, that makes them sound heavy. Definitely going to buy this, first Friday of May.

I don't know, I guess it's the lack of shadowing throughout the drawing that bugs me. I find it's one of those covers where you have to look at it for a while to see what's going on. Maybe if the different elements of the picture were separated a little better somehow; I'm speaking out of ignorance as I'm not a visual artist.

...or at least not put a red scribbly logo overtop that clearly will look messy. Oh well, not knocking the band at all - I haven't heard this album yet, but if it's like the others I've heard then it's gonna kick ass.

Jesus that's horrendous. A lot of thrash album artwork started looking like this towards the late 80s/early 90s

Just stumbled upon this gem. Who did they take that ear from and why was this person so large? And then why'd you sew it over someone's nipple?

Utterly idiotic artwork for an utterly dull album. Released as an A5 digibook cuz artwork this bad needs to be larger.

 This is firmly in the "so bad it's good" category and the A5 digibook aspect only amplifies that.

The special edition of Opeth's Watershed is awful.

Image

The stamp guy is Jorge, a made up "character" whose face was composed using facial parts of all the band members. Why they thought using this awful face on all the artwork was a good idea I'll never know, specially if you consider the regular artwork is kind of cool. They also included the bonus tracks on the special edition on a DVD that isn't playable on regular CD readers. I was pretty pissed that the special edition was mostly useless garbage and a cash grab.

Image

Edit: typo.

This, it's those kinds of album covers where you know the album's gonna be good.
I'm kinda getting the same vibe to it as Necromantia's Scarlet Evil Witching Black, Inquisition's Into The Infernal Regions Of The Ancient Cult, Sepultura's Morbid Visions

It looks like the hill is "cut" like in a videogame. They probably wanted to make it look like the side of a cliff, but it just looks like environments in a Sonic or other 2D platformer game.

Speaking of video games, it sure does remind me of Lemmings if you ever played it before.
