Off the top of my head:

Avantasia - Moonglow is coming out on February 1st. Should be a cracker.

Battle Beast are working on something for early 2019 too.

Children of Bodom is scheduled for March sometime (has been finished for a while but Nuclear Blast have put it on the backburner).

Pretty sure Cradle of Filth are working on new material. I didn't enjoy the last album but I'll still check out whatever they do next.

New Candlemass, hopefully new Borknagar. As a dude who lived through the disappointments of the 90s, I dread more then anticipate new albums :|

Not sure we're getting that Pharaoh album this year, so hopefully in 2019 it'll come out.

Black Sword Thunder Attack debut.

As for albums that I've been announced for years and still haven't heard release dates about, Dawn of Winter, Jacula, Kranium, and Wotan.

I see some people mention Candlemass. Last I heard that was supposed to come out this fall. Is that no longer true?

I have doubts of this ever coming out. Also, the pressure to release something at least good is too big, don't think they'll manage to do it tbh.

ManOwaR supposedly is putting out a new album in 2019. Can't say I'm "excited", per se, but I'm looking forward to it in the hopes it isn't a turd like Lord of Steel.

Exodus are also supposedly putting out an album next year but they've been saying that for the past three years. SLAYER, JUST LET GARY RECORD THE FUCKING EXODUS ALBUM

New Deceased whenever that's coming out. It feels like ages since the last one. What was it? Seven years?

Hoping for a new Darkspace, though there's no telling with this band. There is usually little to zero news from them when it comes to upcoming releases but hopefully there's gonna be a Dark Space V (or III II?) in 2019. Their last album came out 4 years ago.

King said it’ll be out before Halloween. I was thinking you were exaggerating but hell it has been five years already! Madness.

Hopefully a Paysage d'Hiver demo with new songs, instead of just splits with already released ones.

Candlemass, maybe new Skepticism (I spoke with Jani, who said a new release won't take 8 years, and maybe 3-4). Isn't there supposed to be a new King Diamond album too?

Yeah, seems that way. And I reckon 5 milliseconds after it's released, they'll split up. I don't think they have any more albums in them.

For some reason I'd got it in my head that they'd have a new one out this year, but I must be misremembering. Sure to be a great album.

^ They announced an album release show for December 22nd where they'll be playing the new one in its entirety. I've gotta think the details will be revealed soon and that it'll still technically be out by the end of the year.

When Andy Sneap finally gets bored of poorly impersonating Glen we might finally get to hear the Hell record that's been in development since mid 2016.

A safe bet. From what I can tell, they recorded it over the summer with Peter Tägtgren producing at his studio.

Been waiting on this, too. I'd like to think most of the tracking was already done, but I haven't read anything substantial about where they actually are with it.

Aside from Candlemass, first priority for me is Overkill. Really interested in how Jason Bittner fits in and from the little I've seen, along with how he elevated Flotsam and Jetsam, my expectations are high. I think the band are aware how "The Grinding Wheel" didn't quite hit nor leave the same lasting impression as the last few, so this should be more inspired.

Tangentially related, Ron Lipnicki apparently joined Whiplash. Not sure how I feel about that yet.

I'm hoping for at least one out of Carcass, Dark Angel, Morbid Saint, Exhorder, or maybe even Demolition Hammer to deliver.

I've seen Astronoid live 3 times in the last 8 months, most recently one week ago today. I talked to Bret and Casey and they told me that it's written and recorded, but they're waiting on "stuff" to get sorted before they can release it. I expect it to be much different from Air, from what they told me. Looking forward to it!

Yeah, it could technically be released this year, but 2019 is the likeliest scenario from what I've gathered from their FB page and messages I've sent them.

1349 have stated that they will be releasing a new album next year, too. Looking forward to hearing what they've come up with. It's been I think 4 or 5 years since their last one and I'm hoping they up the ante and release something that's going to destroy.

Obligatory Coroner mention too. Coroner I think is even less likely than Tool at this point. While Tool did at least post some studio updates last year, Coroner never did actually promise anything.

I have a friend whose drum teacher is Coroner's drummer and still there's no word of anything in that field. I guess it will either come out of nowhere or not at all.

Waiting for the same bands as for the last few years to finally resurface with new material:

Disillusion (recordings supposedly beginning this month)
Absu
Intestine Baalism (not really expecting this to happen)
Hollenthon

If it doesn't happen this year, “Memoria Vetusta IV“ is definitely the most anticipated one. New Gorguts would be fantastic too, though - only recently fell in love with “Colored Sands“ again.

Has there been any indication that there will even *be* any more Hollenthon material? I'd be over the moon if that was the case, but I'm certainly not holding my breath.

The new Pharaoh is my most anticipated album by a mile, but a new Dark Forest album will be high on my priority list as well.
