Finally.... FINALLY, Wotan (epic heavy metal from Italy) is releasing their new album this fall. Click for facebook post from their label.

They first announced they were making it in either 2013 or 2014.

Looking forward to the new albums by

- Book of Wyrms ("Remythologizer", August 23): Their debut was such a pleasing listen and great slab of stoner doom.

- Monolord ("No Comfort", September 20): An unrelenting fuzz force in studio and on stage!

- Urn ("Iron Will of Power", September 20): Simple but solid old school black/thrash stuff. Malignant Strange Pizzaaaaas!

- Djevel ("Ormer Til Armer, Maane Til Hode", October): Not sure how Mannevond and Trond Ciekals are doing this but they're already getting their next album out. (Sixth full-length in total and fourth full-length since 2015!) Gonna be killer for sure.

The new BAEST album, Venenum, is sure to be a rip-roaring good time of Death Metal. Their first full length from last year was awesome, but I think I enjoy their two newer songs just as much if not more than anything off of that album. These two songs seem a bit more varied than what was on Dance Macabre, which has me excited to see what other influences they'll have present.

Urn's last album was pretty sick, consider me intrigued.

So yeah, King Gizzard isn't on the archives yet (check back in 2 weeks), but:

Into the Rats' Nest. Holy fuck am I hyped for this. The 3 singles they've released so far have all been pure thrash, but from the live tracks I've seen on YouTube, a good chunk of ITRN is doomy as fuck. So far it almost feels like a history lesson, and I could not be happier to pay attention in class.

I'm quite excited to hear this one as well.

99% chance I'll buy this album. Sounds like it could have been another track on Exercises in Futility. Nice to have some progression but then again I thought Exercises was very similar to Hearts, just more refined.

Epta Astera is set to release their new album on Reformation Day (October 31st). IMO they just keep getting better with each release and the samples I've heard sound fantastic.

There is not a single anticipated album for me, but most of all I'm waiting for new Blut Aus Nord.

Not sure if this has been mentioned yet, but Mortem from Norway has been necromanced and features Hellhammer on drums/percussion.

This has that Nineties Norwegian early Arcturus/Nocturnal Arts Production type sound that I’m a huge sucker for. Will absolutely pick this up.

new Hour of Penance song out

Sounds like classic Hour of Penance. Hard to top the Vile Conception/Paradogma double though

Last one had some ultra-catchy tunes.

This new Lacuna Coil song has me looking forward for their new album. Frankly, I've never been a fan, but this song is so goddam well done that I'm probably gonna go back a bit in their discography and check it out a bit.

Wilderun released a new single and I'm really excited. Love their first two albums and from this song it seems the new one will be great as well. Bummed to see that Evan isn't in Replacire anymore, I just started listening to them and he did a great job with them as well.

I'd give a shoutout to Diabolic Night from Germany. They play thrash metal borrowing influences from the teutonic trio as well as bands from the Kolbotn scene (Nekromantheon and others). They also put a slight melodic spin to their riffery.

Outstanding album. Incredible playing and great songs. Definitely a favorite this year. Been on repeat all weekend.
