Here's a rough alphabetized list of things I continued to listen to in 2019:
(I used the old Metal-Rules criterion of not including any live albums, demos, EPs, or compilations.)

Arch/Matheos - Winter Ethereal
Ares Kingdom - By the Light of Their Destruction
Crypt Sermon - The Ruins of Fading Light
Diamond Head - The Coffin Train
Overkill - The Wings of War
Pentacle - Spectre of the Eight Ropes
Queensrÿche - The Verdict
Saint Vitus - Saint Vitus

I honestly didn't care for very much this year and think 2020 will be considerably better based on the schedule.

I've gotten around to the Matyrdod album and wow, this is pretty killer stuff. I love the vocals. Does anyone know what genre this would fall under? I hear death/black/punk/grind all mixed?? Sick album though - I'd recommend checking it out!

Martyrdöd is a Swedish crust-band, with an extensive and amazing back catalogue.

Gruzja - Jeszcze Nie Mamy Na Was Pomysłu (random Youtube find, excellent avantgarde black metal with influences from different styles all over the board, including post-punk; the only somewhat similar band I can think of is post-reunion Master's Hammer)

Finally checked out the new Unfathomable Ruination... so fucking good. Almost as good as the Organectomy release? Maybe... I needed that after how disappointed I was in the new Hideous Divinity.

Man I was really disappointed with the new Unfathomable Ruination. It might be petty but I really think the production was just a giant step back. Like, there's a difference between raw and bad, and this fell clearly on the latter end for me. I do like how they and Abnormality keep releasing albums at the same time though, so I can't help but see them as sister bands to each other. Abnormality won the first round in a tight race, Ruination won the second round pretty handily, and now for the tiebreaker Abnormality absolutely demolished them.

Came by this on Youtube some weeks ago and I'm really digging this, might actually end up on my best of list for this year, which I'm still compiling. Been a very thrash and death heavy year for me so it was a pleasure to find some good power/heavy metal. Apparently they opened for Maiden in Porto Alegre earlier this year.

I don't mind the production, but I'm not familiar with their other stuff. I'll have to check out that Abnormality album too.

I dunno, maybe I need to listen to it again, but it felt like it was missing a lot of the fun grooves I like out of brutal death metal. It's been a while since I checked it out though, so take that with a grain of salt.

Oh I know - it's not on the archives. But I guess that you all know about them anyway and you either like them or not. For those who do I'm happy to report the fact that this is their best album ever. I like it a lot and it still gives me much pleasure to hear Martin play drums. Perhaps the album will fade away during the year but as of right now this is the best album in 2019 so far.

It sounds less technical to me. :nono:

It's (less technical or metal) but I could relisten to this yesterday and it's GREAT.

Just want to end this thread? with a quick note for anyone who’s slightly interested in 90s industrial metal, that the Swedish band Misery Loves Co. released their first album in 19 years in 2019. And it’s really good.

2019 has brought so many good music I didn't even partecipate to the poll.

I have 4 albums on the first place of the podium and can't ( neither want) draw lines between them.

Aoratos, Nervengeist, Arx Atrata and Deathspell Omega are all at the same level. There's no reason to put the in an order, they are 1, 1, 1 and 1

Coming next on 5th there's Sunhopfer, then Norman Shores, D'un Autre Temps, Vltimas, Sale Freux 10'ep, Nemesis Sopor 10'ep...
Too many to mention
