This band has intrigued me since I heard them a few months ago. They just put out a compilation, and now they're moving forward pretty quickly with a full length out through Relapse in March. They've been getting a lot of praise in the underground, although I haven't really seen anyone discussing them here (unless I missed a thread somewhere). I'm curious to hear what others on the forum think of them; I know I will probably be picking this up when I can!

The album name rules.

This looks amazing. I'm real curious. I never checked out Cape of Bats even though THEY looked super cool and weird also. In general mixing black metal and punk is kind of a tough sell for me. I hope these guys have something special in the riffing department.

Devil Master rules and listening to the new track I am really excited for it. Haven't seen them live even though I've played a fest where they headlined but definitely want to pick this up when it drops.

I got my copy last week of Manifestations, the compilation with their first demo and E.P., and it's been spinning ever since. I really love how crazy and sporadic the riffing is, and the vocals sound like they were recorded in a dungeon. I really hope they keep the atmosphere they have going on the full length, I will definitely be preordering it when I get the chance.

That cover art is quite amazing, indeed. Is it true that this is actually their debut full-length?

Lovely and strong early 80s-Siouxsie and the Banshees type of influence in there.

Hey, that was actually pretty fucking cool. Might have to check out some of their other stuff. Nice old gothic rock atmosphere in this.

New video and tour were just announced! I will check out the video later today when I can. I'm definitely going to see these guys, I bet it'll be a killer show. Not sure how well known they are but I noticed they are the headliner of the Austin date, my hope is that they'll do well and get some good exposure so they can keep doing it! I know a lot of people who would enjoy their sound, so I'll be spreading the word.

I like that. Sounds like Tribulation's recent stuff with some more punch to it.

This has just dropped and as expected it has absolutely no business being this fucking good. I love the mix of influences and how great the deathrock guitar tone works in combination with the crusty black metal riffs. This LP could easily be twice as long and still not boring.

Yeah, this is insanely good. I long ago gave up on Relapse putting out anything groundbreaking or interesting, but this is one of the most unique releases I've heard in a long time.

This album is ridiculously good.

I'm gonna have to seek out a copy on vinyl.

I knew this was hyped, but it caught me off guard on how much it actually delivers on said hype.

a good album for sure but i feel like they can tighten it up a little bit more and write something truly phenomenal album, they are almost there.

I still have yet to get my preorder, but I really hope it comes in today. I loved all the singles they released, and I'm really curious to hear how they fit within the context of the album.

How, exactly? The longest song is four minutes long and the whole album isn't even 40 minutes and that's including the intro and outro. Any tighter and this would be an EP.

I don't think he means the runtime when he says "tighten up".

This is really fun to listen to. My only complaint would be the cover, I really loved the vice of their precious EPs/demos and this one kind of sucks.

I got my copy in the mail on Monday and it's been spinning in my car ever since. This album has an amazing flow, I like how you can hardly tell when one song starts and another ends. All of the tracks work well and contribute something to the album - even the outro track, which I thought was lazy at first, but I realized that even it flows into the intro track when I just let the CD keep playing until it starts over.

Do they have to be super tight? I feel like for this genre, being a bit more loose works really well. The musicianship is definitely on point here as well, I feel like all the members did a great job of adding something in their own way throughout the album.

The cover is dope as hell! I like it way better than their hand-drawn pink devil drawings. When I saw the cover, I had to get the shirt in addition to the album.

i mean it from a song writing etc pov not a technical pov. They have definitely proven that their basic formula works.
