I'd imagine Dan Seagrave covers, by a talented enough needlesmith, would make incredible full back pieces.

Crosses and pentagrams :P

Anyway, I think b/w death metal art is fantastic for tattooing.

Get the cover of Kings of Metal as a back piece and you are done!

I hope you're not seriously asking complete strangers what should you have engraved in your skin for the absolute rest of your life.

Nope, I just want to expand my knowledge about that, perhaps there will be something interesting among others.

I'm more into black and grey or black only tats. Artworks by C. Moyen come to mind like the ones he did for Archgoat or similar black/white artworks that are so often used for black/death/war metal bands (Blasphemy, Proclamation, Black Witchery, ...).

Also band logos or emblems can be used this way. A friend got the Celtic Frost Heptagram on his arm (black only). (On the other one there's the Skull + Flames from Mercyful Fates' "Don't break the oath" album cover - in color which looks amazing.)

This is the only option. All other suggestions are false metal.

Get Mentors lyrics on your forehead instead.

Anything can be used as a tattoo. That's a vague thread.
