This track came out a while back already but I haven't seen any talk of it here. I'm more of an album kind of guy, but I just kept coming back.

It really shows a much more restrained yet contemplative side of 1349, and the track just has so much depth. Was really hoping this would be part of a forth coming album but sadly it's on an EP with a live rendition of Atomic Chapel, and nothing more.

Hopefully their next release will be more of this quality.

Very solid song. I really like the riffing, well mostly. Whenever the vocals are on they seem to just be chugging along to make it heavy, but I don't think Ravn's vocal are strong enough to carry these sections. Anyway, it's certainly a step up from the last couple of albums. Many would argue that they ran out of things to do after Hellfire, but I hope they have some creative steam left.

I like the song, 1349 is very obviously at their best when they're just going full steam ahead and ripping shit to shreds. Massive Cauldron of Chaos was great and the true followup to Hellfire as far as I'm concerned, and assuming they keep this up and stay away from the ambient stuff they're so bad at I'm sure the next album (whenever it happens) will be equally great.

I really like their ambient stuff, as well. They can do anything. Frost is the most organic drummer in metal, and Ravn mechanically precise.

Not a bad song, but I'm still surprised nobody talks about Edvard Munch, he's my favourite painter. I was hoping that 1349 will become more atmospheric or even melancholic/DSBM because this suits Munch better. Being 'only' aggressive and angry black metal doesn't go well with his painting(s).

The song itself wasn't too bad but I would like to hear another song.

I'm surprised that they have continued with the Tunnel of Set songs, which we can assume are just interludes and there will only be 8 true songs.

Very glad to see Dødskamp made it to the album, and even a slightly longer version! I'm excited about this release, but I agree with the sentiment that most of the promise is in their ability to maintain a nuanced sound and not the non-stop assault of the first two albums. (which were good, don't get me wrong, but I'm much more interested in this new direction)

Not really excited by that track, but this one was also spoiled a month ago which is better than that, but not as good as Dødskamp:

This "new direction" is like ten years old

I haven't actually listened to the new songs beyond Dodskamp but based on context clues like the reappearance of the Tunnel of Set interludes and comments here and such, this seems like it'll be a surefire spiritual successor to Demonoir. Sort of dampened my hype, honestly. Their first three albums are insane and unquestionably their peak, and MCoC was a great way to finally bring it back to what they're good at. I appreciate their drive to experiment but man they really clearly have a particular style they're super good at and I wish they'd quit trying to move away from it.

I didn't listen to Massive Cauldron of Chaos, but I did listen to everything else, and the track Dødskamp didn't seem to fit the sound of the first three albums nor the two ambient albums. Would you say it fits Massive Cauldron of Chaos?

MCoC was more or less a throwback to the Hellfire era. As far as I remember there was no ambient at all in that one. I haven't heard this new song yet and haven't listened to Dodskamp since it first dropped months ago so I can't say with any certainty what this'll sound like, but people the way people are describing it (plus, again, the reemergence of the Tunnel of Set interludes) tells me this will probably be an album that flip flops the two styles just like Demonoir did.
