Not to circle-jerk here, but metalheads typically are melomaniacs who like music beyond genre boundaries. We're a much more fluid audience, generally speaking, then the crowds of much other genres. I'm pretty sure that the synthwave scene, for instance, wouldn't be as big as it is now if it wasn't for metalheads.
