New album from Finnish power metallers Excalion coming out in September. Last one was really good. This has some weird song titles and a cover that could kinda be from any band. Looking forward to sampling some music though.

Well. Hopefully this will be good. Still a little iffy on Dream Alive, nothing really caught me compared to anything off of High Time, but Ill give this a shot.

Awesome, no waiting seven years this time! Last one I think was as strong as they’ve ever been, this should be no different.

Should be something to see how they sound after only a very brief gap after the initial seven year one before.

Pretty good. Sounds basically like what they always have been good at. Pounding tempo and bright catchy yet tight chorus melody.

Ehhhhhh honestly it’s lacking the oomph their previous singles had. Centenarian has a much better chorus and Enter a Life and Wingman were just utterly perfect.

This is so great. I don't think any PM band has this distinct kind of classic songwriting style mixed with the Europower stuff right now. Marcus Lang sounds even better than the last album and the songs are fucking hard hitters, all of em. "Nightmariner" is a standout so far, and "The Golden Horde" is hugely epic.

Here's the full album: https://scarletrecords.bandcamp.com/album/emotions

Alright Golden Horde is a fantastic song. Still not going to get past these vocals but it’s a step up from Dream Alive. Nightmariner and Deep Water are pretty fun as well.

I am quite surprised by this!! It's a solid mix between modern/power/symphonic, with very tasteful songwriting and some catchy melodies.

You should check their other albums too; all of them are in a similar style. This is actually a bit heavier and meaner than they used to be in places.

This is better than Dream Alive was, but it's still not altogether very exciting. Maybe Excalion just isn't for me.

This is pretty good! But holy hell the singer sounds exactly like Marko Hietala of whom I'm a big fan.
