High quality band, I listened to (I think) their third album a while ago, they're pretty good at what they do. Will be interesting to hear.

Let me politely say that I have no interest in ever listening to this album let alone buying it.

Arghoslent used to be my Inquisition, the band that I abhorred on a personal/moral level but championed anyway because the riffs were so good. I've grown a bit and look back at my defenses with a beefy cringe but hey, the internet is forever. Thankfully House of Atreus came around and managed to replicate their style exactly as well as they do it but with infinity less racism, so I'm not missing much anymore.

Maybe I'll crack and give it a listen out of nostalgic curiosity but you bet your ass I'm not paying for it.

I'm in the same situation as BastardHead. These horrible people know how to write some tasy riffs so I'll have a listen, but they're not getting a single cent from me.

There are way too many excellent bands who are so much more deserving of my precious music listening time. I'm not wasting a second on these oxygen stealing incels, especially with new albums from Necrot and Phrenelith on the way. Pass.

You either approve or you don't. If you dislike the subject matter don't listen to it. You can't claim some moral high ground by listening without buying or buying it second hand.

Well according to economics, I think a used CD would be a substitute good for a new CD, so by buying used CDs, you are contributing to increasing the price or scarcity of the used CDs, which would lead to more demand for the new CDs. Basically, buying used may or may not help them make money, but it almost certainly can't hurt them.

I still can't support these morons. I don't care how good their riffs are because they're actually not any better than most good death/black/thrash bands.

I can't wait for this release. House of Atreus doesn't hold a candle to sounding anywhere near them. I will be pre-ordering.

I enjoy IB, but the debut and 3rd release were a clear step down. I'll be interested to see how this one comes out, but I wouldn't say I have particularly high expectations.

By release dates it's more the other way around, but I dunno if Dragonforce is really flowery enough to appeal to Arghoslent fans.

Uhhh buddy you might wanna read their lyrics. Zealous Inequity is about hating immigrants, Call to Thee, Concubines is about raping prostitutes, and Bonded Behind Supremacy speaks for itself. They hide behind the guise of "Greek history", but the fact that they wear Arghoslent merch in their band photos and sound just like them makes it pretty clear what they're about.

I don't think the text in those fliers are the actual title of the upcoming album, it's just your average proud-to-be-old-and-underground promotional flier. (Ironic, I know)

Yeah, I was under the impression House of Atreus were very sketchy too. I remember reading at a forum that some people had seen members of the band sieg heiling at a show but I can't find it any more. At least one of the members also wears a lot of nazi patches (Arghoslent, Grand Belial's Key, Svolder, etc). They've also played live with some of these bands.

HELL FUCKING YES! Can't fucking wait. Arghoslent are the absolute best and I'm positive their new album is going to be a great contender for AOTY 2020.

There's a mid-2019 interview in which Gelal mentions having almost finished recording new albums for both Arghoslent and Grand Belial's Key, and both coming out in 2020. So yeah new GBK is also in the works.

This band is very controversial, and some of the moral stuff here is worth discussing in the context, regarding listening to their music, supporting the band, etc. That's allowed.

It's pretty funny to me that people view House of Atreus as being on the same tier as Arghoslent in regards to songwriting and composition. House of Atreus have surface similarities, but their actual meat is very weak and lacks cohesion. The metalcore like production they use hasn't done them any favors either.

For those that are interested in an Arghoslent sounding band, without the racism and a unique identity all to their own, I suggest looking into Mi'Gauss.

That's all both news to me and genuinely disappointing. The only thing I'd ever really heard about them being shit dudes was a (frankly fucking awful) take along the lines of "Well if they sound so much like Arghoslent, then clearly they must be fans of the band, and by being fans and recreating their sound, that is tantamount to tacit support for their ideas." I hate slippery slope arguments but that really does leave the door open for every single black metal band on the planet supporting whatever awful cuckoo shit Varg says purely by virtue of Burzum releasing some of the most influential albums in the genre. I never really delved into their lyrics all that much but I certainly wouldn't question shitty stances being espoused there since they're writing about an ancient society with extremely outdated views, but if they've got a lingchi of small breadcrumbs that point to them being more into it than they initially come off, I'll definitely have to look into it more, and I'm super bummed that those breadcrumbs are there at all.

Guess I'll have to start my own fucking band if I want a band that sounds like this but doesn't say awful shit.

Somehow, Arghoslent are the most similar band on Ares Kingdom's page. I don't know what the basis of comparison though since I've only listened to the latter.
