I didn't listen to that Nishaiar release, but IRIX ZERIUS was pretty good. A lot of it was slow BM or ambient stuff but there were some moments of suddenly full speed. All while there was tons of keys going on.

I only picked Esoteric - Metamorphogenesis Remix/Remaster. I honestly didn't know what else to pick.

Pre-ordered the new Enslaved on CD and was going to grab the new Uada on CD as well but instead purchased all 3 of their albums digitally for around the same price. As much of a physical collector as I am, can't always justify the cost when I'm rarely going to play the CD's anyways.

I didn't know Katavasia had a new album out! It came out precisely on the last Bandcamp Friday... oops. I bought it and topped off 20% on the price just because. lol

Just wanted to take a second and that those from the board that are supporting artists with their hard-earned dollars and their listening time. I know a number of people from this board have contributed to my projects over the past six months and it's been incredibly helpful for me. Love you all.

I have a new single from my Dungeon Synth/Dark Ambient project Encloaked coming out on Friday. It's got guitars and leans more into Synthwave/Berlin School territory and it was a lot of fun to put together. It's called "The Air is Thick With Magic Here". The track is pre-streaming on Bandcamp now, so check it out, add it to your cart and grab it with the rest of your music purchases this Friday!

Hey everyone, tomorrow's another revenue waive!

All I have planned is preordering the new VHS album.

I thought this wasn't supposed to be out until November 20th?

That was the original vinyl date, which has now been pushed back. They released the digital today on Bandcamp to make some extra $$.

Fairly slim haul this time around, just the latest from Armored Saint, Eternal Champion, Glacier, Rockin' Engine and Wytch Hazel.

Only one Bandcamp Friday left, for this year at least. Does anyone know if they're planning on keeping them going in 2021?

I ended up grabbing:
Isenordal - Shores of Mourning (Cassette)
Isenordal - Spectral Embrace (Cassette)
Isenordal - Imbolc MMXIV (Cassette)
Wayfarer - A Romance with Violence (CD)
Wayfarer - World's Blood (CD, got two! One for me and my girlfriend)
Feminazgul - The Age of Men is Over (Two shirts too!)

Would have been good to get a larger selection maybe but those were all things myself and my girlfriend really wanted and we had an absolute blast browsing together. I was going to grab some stuff from Boris too but they only seem to sell a few vinyl through their bandcamp and I wasn't that interested. I would have probably gotten a shirt or CD if they had one.

RELEVANT BUMP:
https://daily.bandcamp.com/features/ban ... idays-2021
Quote:
On the first Friday of every month since March, we’ve waived our revenue share to help support the many artists who have seen their livelihoods disrupted by the pandemic. Over the course of these nine days, fans paid artists and labels $40 million dollars, helping cover rents, mortgages, groceries, medications, and much more. If you’re among the nearly 800,000 fans who participated, thank you.

Although vaccines are starting to roll out, it will likely be several months before live performance revenue starts to return. So we’re going to continue doing Bandcamp Fridays in 2021, on February 5th, March 5th, April 2nd, and May 7th. As always, isitbandcampfriday.com has the details.

If you’ve started to feel guilty about buying music on any day other than Bandcamp Friday, here’s something to keep in mind: on Bandcamp Fridays, an average of 93% of your money reaches the artist/label (after payment processor fees). When you make a purchase on any other day of the month (as 2.5 million of you have since March, buying an additional $145 million worth of music and merch) an average of 82% reaches the artist/label. Every day is a good day to directly support artists on Bandcamp!

Maybe Morrigan can update the initial post?

But .. none in January? Well that is weird.

Why is that weird? New Year's Day is pretty much a universal holiday, and January is typically the least spend-happy month since everyone is so burnt out and poor from the holidays. Plus almost no one is releasing or promoting music that time of year anyway. My wallet will be very thankful for the break.

It is time again. Amongst some other things I will buy the entire discography of Kypck.

In an amazing turn of events, the mighty Vindicator managed to get their discography onto Bandcamp, so I'll be buying their first two releases. I've been looking for a copy of the second album since it came out in 2010, and though I'll have to settle for digital, I'm really excited about this!

If anyone's interested, my band just dropped our debut EP last Friday. It's a unique take on the OSDM revival with elements of prog and thrash as well. It's available on CD (shipping internationally) and for digital download. You can grab it here: https://begravement.bandcamp.com/album/ ... ecromancer

Haul for this month:
Ice Howl - Cadence of the Cursed
Malfet - The Way to Avalon
Julie Christmas - The Bad Wife
Adamantis - Far Flung Realm
John Carpenter - Lost Themes III
Witnesses - Doom II

I also got five digital preorder sales for the acoustic album I'm releasing in a couple weeks so that was also pretty awesome.

I've been diving deeper into 90s Finnish DM recently, so I'll be buying some of those classics and few new ones carrying that torch:

One of the best bands carrying the torch so to speak of the older Finnish styles is Coagulate, which happens to be from my hometown and feature some of my good friends. Their demo was released last year and and is just incredible. I'd highly recommend it; it's in the vein of Demilich, Demigod, Convulse, etc. with some influences from bands like Phlebotomized and Pan.Thy.Monium as well.

https://coagulatempls.bandcamp.com/releases
https://rottedlife.bandcamp.com/album/t ... -cryptosis

Additionally, now might be a good time for me to plug my own band once again for anyone interested. We're called Begravement, and we released our debut EP at the end of January. We play death/thrash metal in the vein of Death, Morbid Angel, Gorguts, Demolition Hammer, and the like with some progressive twists thrown in as well. Along with the digital release, we have limited-edition CDs and are happy to ship anywhere in the world. I hope some of you will grab it tomorrow!

https://begravement.bandcamp.com/album/ ... ecromancer

Some other underground bands I've been enjoying that you can support:
Maul (sludgy, caveman-esque OSDM)
Coffin Rites (fast, aggressive death metal)
Agony Reigns (modern thrash with some metalcore influences)
Oxygen Destroyer (extremely fast, groovy kaiju film-themed death metal)
Nekrotisk (heavy, intense blackened death)
RED\\SHIFT (progressive sludge)
VolsungaSaga (pagan folk/black metal)

Enjoy!

Sorry, I won't be picking up the Begravement record tomorrow, because I did last month :)
I was a pretty big fan of it! You guys were an early highlight of the year and will make voting "debut of the year" a bit easier ;) Those "progressive twists" are pretty sick, man. Not every day theremin is so righteously incorporated.

Not sure what I'm gonna pick up tomorrow! Warrior Path (power metal) and Earthshine (doom/black metal) are both things that have been on my "to check out" list.
