Honestly, I think this should stay even if COVID were to ''disappear''. It's great way to support small time artists. :)

Agreed 100%, it's just strange that its December and they've given us no updates on whether or not it will continue in 2022

Bandcamp Friday is coming back until May.

https://daily.bandcamp.com/features/ban ... ays-update

I've seen a lot of shows get cancelled/postponed lately, so glad that they're bringing this back.

I figured this was the best place to mention this, but Bandcamp just announced today that they've been bought by Epic Games (the makes of Fortnite, Unreal Engine etc.). While I'm sure this won't have much of an immediate impact on their existing ventures including Bandcamp Friday, I'm curious what this means for the company moving forward. Epic doesn't really have the greatest track record when it comes to acquisitions outside of gaming, as the purchase and eventually shuttering of Houseparty shows but I suppose they're unlikely to do anything similar in this case since Bandcamp is as profitable as it is.

New Zealand doom band Bleed This Earth just dropped a timely album, will definitely be grabbing that.

I realized I somehow didn't have the first four Falconer albums, despite the fact that I consider them one of my favorite bands. Corrected that mistake. I also picked up some lesser-known gems:

https://aquilla.bandcamp.com/album/mankinds-odyssey (Enforcer worship from Poland)
https://magickhowl.bandcamp.com/album/sulphurnaut (atmospheric blackened death from Spain)
https://selfmadegod.bandcamp.com/album/ ... -salvation (melo-death-doom from US)
https://nyxdivision.bandcamp.com/album/dark-star (PDX post-punk)
https://izthmiseattle.bandcamp.com/albu ... all-behind (Cascadian black/doom)

They did take a break for a few months but it's returning in Sept:

Quote:
We’re going to continue doing Bandcamp Fridays in 2022, resuming on September 2nd, and continuing on October 7th, November 4th, and December 2nd. As always, isitbandcampfriday.com has the details.

Here's my haul!

Cruthu - Athrú Crutha (epic doom like Grand Magus)
Darkened - The Black Winter (OSDM with some Bolt Thrower influence and Andy Whale on drums)
Månegarm - Ynglingaättens Öde (first album I buy from them since 2007!)
Sadistic Ritual - The Enigma, Boundless (excellent black/thrash, I posted them earlier in this thread)
Devoid of Life - Embracing Emptiness (Norwegian epic black/death)

Non-metal:
Rúnfell - entire discography (2 albums + 1 single), some pretty cool Norse folk

Planning to pull the trigger on the new Sumerlands and Sonja albums sometime today. I've got new merch for one band and a new EP for the other so that's pretty rad.

Surprised this thread hasn't been bumped, as it's Bandcamp Friday today:

https://daily.bandcamp.com/features/bandcamp-fridays-update

According to the link above, they're doing Bandcamp Friday starting with February and continuing every month of 2023 with the exception of June (What I am ASSUMING is they'll do the Juneteenth thing again like they did in 2022).
