Suffering Hour will release their new album The Cyclic Reckoning through Profound Lore on February 19, 2021. Pre-orders will be available in early January.

From the press release:

Quote:
At 45 minutes in length spanning 5 songs, “The Cyclic Reckoning” showcases the band firing on all cylinders. The music on this album is more representative of SUFFERING HOUR as a whole than it ever was on past material, with every member making their presence more known than ever. This record also features the band sacrificing some of their technicality and chaos in favor of more atmospheric passages, as the band envisioned this record to be an unhindered display of negative emotion, seething or sombre. Based around themes of awakening, obsessions, and mental anguish, this is a natural continuation of everything that encompasses the band’s ideas on life, death and beyond. This is Suffering Hour at their most honest and fierce.

The song sounds awesome but is just poor upload quality making everything so muffled?

It sounds fine to me. Sure, it's muddy and lo-fi to an extent but I like that approach. You can check the Bandcamp version if you're not convinced by the Youtube one.

Yeah I like this a tad more punchy. Still rules, though.

One of the most exciting bands in the US at the moment. Especially cool to see them blowing up considering how young they are; they were all 20/21 when they wrote the debut and that's one of my favorite records of the past few years. I caught them on their last tour and they had brought their mom along with them. She was helping sell merch and it was super sweet.

New track is killer, as is all of their stuff. If the new album turns out to be on par with their previous material, it will climb very high on my AOTY list.

Awesome riffs, as expected, but the song isn't unhinged enough for my taste.

And this:

Quote:
This record also features the band sacrificing some of their technicality and chaos in favor of more atmospheric passages, as the band envisioned this record to be an unhindered display of negative emotion, seething or sombre

is just about the opposite direction I wanted them to take.

Sounds cool but I was expecting a bit more of aggression.

I get real Emptiness - Error era vibes from this track. Good stuff I like it.

I'm on my first listen right now and it sounds great so far. Strong postpunkish vibes, more atmospheric than the first one (just what they said). The first and last tracks are probably the best.

I'm glad I noticed this thread! I have not heard this band yet, but I checked the new album out over the weekend. I really am enjoying it! Went back and listened to the first album too. Great stuff and glad I found out about these guys!
