Tuomas reunited his old band/project, with Lars Eikind (clean vocals) back in the fold... BtD were/are masters of the 3-minute melodeath "pop" song :)

This is great news. It's funny that you're introducing them as "that guy from Wolfheart", but I guess that is Tuomas' most popular project at this point, even though it's much newer than BtD. It's good to hear Eikind again, he's such an underrated vocalist, and he hadn't really done very much in the past decade.

Great news indeed, and yes Elkind is a superb vocalist, and he kills it in this song. I do wish Tuomas's vocals were a little more up front in the mix, but it's a small thing. I am looking forward to this album!

Oh, wow! Wasn't expecting that at all. Even though Wolfheart is consistently amazing, I was sad to hear that Tuomas was pulling the plug on BtD (and all of his other projects) back then. This new song is not immediately gratifying like Deadsong, Winter Within or Deathstar, but a long time listener will notice the melodies are back in full force and the structure remains largely unaltered. If that "If it ain't broken, don't try to fix it" mentality seeps into a probable new album, then that'll be great. Adding to what the OP said, they're indeed masters of super catchy melodeath for people with short attention spans.

Eikind!! I've been wondering where he disappeared to... and he's back!

For a minute I thought this was an old song by them. At least they're being true to themselves.

Eikind sounds great, so that's good.
