Is this one Dismember?

Yep, that's right. For anyone not in the know, memberberries are a sentient fruit in South Park. Diss = to insult. Diss + member = Dismember.

Ok, some hints. I think in some cases a different phrasing will do though.

1. the Glaswegian club's water vapour near zero
Hint: Two words: the Glaswegian club + water vapour near 0 °C.

2. French easing of political tension
Hint: A French word that means "easing of political tension".
Bonus hint (since the band isn't as well known as the others): front woman.

3. a literal Eastern European leader of warriors
Hint: In a lyric, their singer once eloquently proclaimed something like: 'Empty your bowels, I am not a sea creature!' – or words to that effect.
Bonus hint (since people certainly don't know their lyrics by heart): In 2005, their original guitar player went to a different dimension.

4. He who arises in Might – but after the forest damage
Hint: Two of your (aloof's) own riddles were: "Bilbo's prequel minus three letters" and "peter parker's favourite passage". Same universe.

6. Devil, Sightless Rage, Devil, Outcast, Devil
Hint: English band with several name changes.

7. famous one-legged avenger
Hint: The name of a world-famous one-legged man who's out for revenge. The name was well-known long before rock 'n' roll.

9. where woe, lamentation, fire, oblivion and hate flow
Hint: The place where the River of Woe, the River of L… etc. are located.

ok, i'm now twice as embarrassed for still not getting them, but here's my attempts or comments:

2. Detente! lol

4. i got that same universe as a mental image, but there's no significant bands with names that match... Saruman? Sauron? Mordor is not a "he" :/

6. Satan!

it's so obvious any clue i give you is axully too much :) recurring character :)

edit: ok, here's another, sneakier, sideways clue: one of the original band members' names features in many, many photos of metal bands. it's still too obvious as i'm typing this, but nevermind :D

"fairer" clue: if you tried all JB character names to see which fits, you probably don't know the band, otherwise you'd have got it :)

Still none the wiser really... Venom? V + M? That's all I can really think of.

Morgoth?

:nods: … because "He who arises in Might" is just the literal meaning of the Quenya word "Melkor" and then... the thing with the Trees...:

"Last of all is set the name of Melkor, He who arises in Might. But that name he has forfeited; and the Noldor, who among the Elves suffered most from his malice, will not utter it, and [after the forest damage, er, I mean, after the destruction of the Two Trees of Valinor *g*] they name him Morgoth, the Dark Enemy of the World."

Uh, forget about the definition. Apparently, it's wrong. Let me try again.

It's a hand gesture and/or a shouted phrase indicating truce. From what I understand, it was more prevalent in certain parts of the North American continent and is now probably considered archaic even there.

The term has origins in much older times. If you had to carry a document from one place to another, the presence of [band name] in the form of a seal on said document would make your travel much safer.

At first, I thought it was the blackened noise band Wold, since they were once on here, but got deleted for being too noisy for acceptable raw black metal. However, the word means some open grass area and originated in England, so that can't be it. Another hint, please? :???:

The seal is bestowed by a type of a ruler, a monarch. The monarch's title is in the name of the band.

Speaking on behalf of roughly 67% of humanity: Some more Bond-riddle clues or the solution would benefit everybody's mental health – which is needed when venturing into new rabbit holes. :tinfoil:

Meanwhile, a couple of guesses:

"not the cerys matthews band"
Dave?

"karenina's topic"
Er, Hypocrisy?

"happens in a lab, is not solid but a little slack"
Liquid Tension Experiment?

"early germanic tribe"
The Vandals? Saxon? Nooo, it's Visigoth! (Or not.)

"fierce felines of dave brock's co-lyricist"
Headcat 13?

"pythia of metal"
S…teel Prophet?

"turning up your stereo does this"
Loudness?

"sounds like a violin but way cheesier"
?

"you can read this in most eu power outlets"
?

"italian deity"
?

"propulsion shuttle from the city of angels"
Jefferson Starship were from San Francisco. Either the riddle has a malfunction or I have no idea. I have no idea.

Awesome. :D

Tell me about the Italian deity. Did you mean "Roman", or is it specifically modern Italian and, in that case, is the "deity" used metaphorically?

Here's a good one.

This band has been known for making the same album over and over again, but those who've given their albums a chance will realize that each album has its own special style that actually makes each album stand out from each other.

I honestly had more than 20 looks at my post without seeing anything resembling a band. At one point I was sure it must be "Bovd". Or "Vames"...
