Wow, so many at one sweep! 02, 08, 09, 12, 15, 16, 17 and 20 are :nods: :nods: :nods:

As for 01: not quite but the band name I'm looking for is equally short, and it's another acronym.

#6 very close, but the band name consists of two words; there is a hint in the riddle.

Ruins of Beverast and Thy Catafalque? eclectic listening...

Coasty, your 3 guesses are correct but no brownie cos you cheated :p you should have gotten band #4 as well at least...

I'll have a go. Some might be very easy.

An extremely magnificent sorcerer.

Ancient, very old, before man or beasts roamed the earth, often goes well with soup.

A poisonous, rank element that last for an extremely long, undetermined period of time.

A gargantuan, writhing sea beast from the depths. Gustav Dore was fond of drawing this.

A blanket of night for these places of the dead.

Not a Saint, but clad the same way, of the Seraphic lineage.

A Buddhist monk once used this in a shocking form of protest.

Numerous religions believe this to be the process of obtaining true self or reaching a higher state of being. Even those worshiping darker paths.

Many civilizations flourished on the lifeblood this carried, erecting monuments and grand cities with the wealth and good fortune it's proximity and never ending source brought.

Your spirit is quite visible and goes well with this gritty, cynical crime film.

Not necessarily my favorite band, but one of. This following song is from perhaps the best, heaviest, most original, nonconformist, idiosyncratically and elegantly aggressive metal record ever:

"To HÄÄÄÄÄÄNG on, to what ...", followed by incredibly heavy guitar riff. Really sticks in your head.

1. A classic horror film, credited with kicking off a craze that would become a major trope 30ish years after its release.

2. A famous line from a 1985 movie, in the same genre as above.

3. Often thought to be a shortened version of another word, but actually an initialism of a phrase topical to many of their early lyrical themes.

4. Garbage collection.

5. The wrong way to order fried chicken.

6. A time set aside to earn forgiveness.

Solutions to unsolved older riddles:

Older riddles plus clues:

Spoiler: show
01 Thoudio (but more modern and without me)
Clue: They used to say "thou" but not anymore. The rest is as easy…

03 A.D.M.I.N. but has to ask beforehand
Clue: You can also say: A.D.M.I.N. but lower on the ladder. Sooo easy…

05 Iron Sea (pronounced by the BBC's Acronym Man)
Clue: An acronym that sounds like "Iron Sea".

07 physician who pulls wires and strings and sings about a villa
Clue: You could also say: "physician who orchestrates everything and sings about a villa". 80s… shredding…

10 Rachit Lips React
Clue: anagram

18 √ TON plus 1 (decimals and anything not on record can be disregarded)
Clue: TON is a band's semi-official acronym. What was between this band and its root incarnation?

19 a whole minus 1/4 was two times the same (in 'now minus nine')
Clue: A whole = a band; minus ¼ = one member leaves; two times the same = two times the same name; in 'now minus nine' = in 2021 minus 9 years = 2012.

Solutions:

Spoiler: show
01 It's U.D.O.!!

03 M.O.D.

05 I.N.C. (Indestructible Noise Command)

07 Dr. Mastermind! Doesn't anyone remember Dr. Mastermind?

10 Spiral Architect

18 I was looking for Repulsion, the short-lived project between Carnivore and Type O Negative.

19 Queensryche
