Some really slick sounding classic black metal coming out soon on Van Records, I'm really digging the sound of the preview track. What do you fellas think?

These guys have got it figured out. Galdrum was a great EP and it seems like they're gonna be following in those footsteps. Very much looking forward to this release.

First time hearing this band, despite knowing of them from the release of the Galdrum EP (artwork for it was pretty great). This is terrible sounding to be honest, like if Dragonforce decided to play black metal.

I don't really get that feeling at all. To me they're pulling from a lot of mid-90s Norwegian and Swedish black metal of the more melodic/folky variety i.e. bands like Windir, Vintersorg and Borknagar. The Galdrum EP is worth checking out, it's a really nice slice of medieval, folky melodic black metal. I'm glad we're getting a full length although I didn't quite expect it to come this soon considering the members' other bands (Wayfarer and Blood Incantation) have also been fairly busy lately.

^ Can't hang with any of those bands either. Going to just chalk this up to this band not being for me.

Interesting. This song has a bit of everything in it! Lots going on here....love the soloing, too.
I'd not heard this band before, but will likely buy this.

I like the musical direction and there is some good parts, but there's something missing to make it stand out. I'll give it at least a couple listens. Very cool artwork.

I have not heard the Galdrum EP so I don't know how the new album compares in terms of sound and influences, but I think the echoes of old(er) school power metal are undeniable in Tales of Othertime. That said I'm enjoying this a lot more than I thought I would. Great mishmash of 90s metal of almost all kinds.

Just listened to the album. Really like what I'm hearing here! Reminds me of Emperor and Dissection.

Probably my favourite black metal album of 2021. It's really refreshingly good, and nice to see a band use so much synth and clean vocals without skimping on the actual riffage

Yeah, this album absolutely demolishes. The song "A Journey Through Storms" is some of the best black metal of the last 10 years, with the last 90 seconds being the best part of the album overall. I bought the album before it even finished, and it instantly rocketed into my top 10 albums of 2021, and potentially my top 5 as well. I cannot wait for whatever they have next, and I really, really hope that this band becomes a live, touring project if they aren't already one.

Really great impression on the first listen, gets better and better on subsequent ones. Crazy good album.

This album just brings back that magic this style had for me when I got into it in my teens. It’s pretty special to feel like I did around 25 years ago. Truly incredible.
