Hello metal people!

As many of you might already know, the MA team has sporadically been giving shoutouts to interesting metal bands on our Facebook page. There are not many of them, due to various reasons, so I've been thinking about ways to improve on that. I came to the conclusion, that the easiest way to give a quick shoutout to new, interesting bands would be a forum topic where moderators post a few quick links to cool stuff they come across in the band queue. That's the exact reason why you are reading this post right now.

From now on, we will use this topic to link to "fresh meat" from the depths of the band queue. Presumably, none of the bands will be uniformly loved by all staff members and only represent the personal taste of the individual posting them. Since there are big variations between the musical preferences of the different mods, it's not unlikely most people will get something worthwhile out of this (or so I hope). If y'all like the idea and there's enough band suggestions flowing in, I might even turn them into Spotify playlists.

To keep the bands from getting buried under pages of discussion, we created a separate topic for you to chat about that. Just click the link below:
viewtopic.php?f=1&t=135797

To get things started, here's some Dutch black metal from our fellow PiotrB:
https://www.metal-archives.com/bands/Di ... 3540507932

Disclaimer: We don't take suggestions and we won't post your band even if you're willing to give us money. Don't even bother trying.

To first state that my tastes run from death metal to death metal and when I say death metal, I usually mean modern takes on older styles of the subgenre.

By far the best band queue band I've encountered over the years was this March with Dead Chasm; a death metal trio from Italy with a somewhat doomy style taking a lot of cues from early Incantation as well as Dead Congregation. There are some slight similarities to parts of Worm's Foreverglade as well as a superior Nirvana 2002 cover, though there aren't many notes of the band in Dead Chasm's original music.

Romanian funeral doom. This one is from a few months back, but it left quite an impact on me.

Just took care of this one that had been sitting in the queue for almost a month for some reason; quality stoner metal/hard rock from Poland. Catchy stuff, with a powerful voice and there's a cool Venom cover in Polish on that full-length to boot.

Power metal from Greece / Poland, just got submitted a few hours ago. Whole album is worth checking out, but this is a personal highlight.

Freeroad (not to be confused with Freeways, lol) is pretty cool late 70s/early 80's-style NWOBHM:

Surprised that no one had submitted this pre-GNR band Hollywood Rose until now, considering it's proper heavy metal a la 80's Judas Priest.
