Kind of had to didn't he really though. Given the international acclaim D666 were garnering from Europe, it's a no brainer he relocated. No point touring the same three cities available on the eastern seaboard here constantly, when you can play multiple cities in the space of a few hours driving or whatever. I don't blame him for it at all.

Yes, because if you do the generation classification thing, he’s from the generation after that, “generation X.” But age has nothing to do with it. He was doing all this back when he was young, in the 90s, his views never changed.

"Siege" was the original title of the album that became Defiance. After Defiance was released, they announced Siege would be the title of their next album, but there were a few years between that announcement and the announcement of Wildfire. So it seems that somewhere along the way "Siege" got dropped in favor of "Wildfire." Kind of a shame, I think Siege is a cool title that fits well with the band.

Wasn’t Siege being written with different musicians but they basically all left during that hiatus, so all the material was scrapped? I seem to recall something along those lines.

Oh, maybe that was the case. I hadn't heard that before but it wouldn't surprise me, especially since (other than KK) Wildfire had a completely different lineup than Defiance.

Parkway Drive are huge overseas, still humbly calls Northern NSW home.

Ahh I see, thanks man. Defiance is a killer album as well.

Yeah, they're huge (although no one seems to know what they sound like). D666 are not; hence their inability to launch tours from Australia. Really simple economics at play here.

I'm unsure what KK is so mad about? Is it because he was a big ScoMo fan? I'm thinking it's probably covid/lockdown related even though there's no more lockdowns? Maybe it's because we acknowledge the mistreatment of the aboriginals and that somehow has affected his free speech or something?

KK has always seemed like a huge dumbass so I guess I shouldn't read too much into it, I loved a lot of their early stuff and while this isn't terrible, seems very by the numbers for them.

Still haven't forgiven these for flouncing off the tour with Belphegor in 2017. Lyrics on the new song are embarrassing, although I guess that puts the debate about whether they are a right-wing band to bed.

What debate? I found these after only a few seconds of searching online:

https://toiletovhell.com/threats-censor ... royer-666/

https://www.smh.com.au/entertainment/mu ... 51gur.html

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8b1AtCPqQ-4

He's a racist, white nationalist, misogynist piece of shit, and apparently a thin-skinned petulant manchild as well.

These things tend to go hand-in-hand. But yes, quite damning. A lot of that I wasn't aware of, when I was really into the band (circa 2012) it was a bit more opaque, although I think a lot of the debate was more focused on whether their music itself was racist.

'The Siege' is also the title of an album by Capilla Ardiente (featuring D666's Felipe Plaza). Maybe Felipe asked if he could use the title/D666 dropped the title after CA released theirs. Not sure.

This seems like a continuation from Wildfire and I couldn't get into that one.
It also reeks of punk and punk blows donkey cock for quarters.

Off topic, but right now I think the only people who really use the word 'boomer' are boomers.

Old-Man-Yells-At-Cloudcore

See also how every 80s metal band has to have at least one song about how kids always be on their damn phones, or about people who are famous for nothing. (ignoring how they all had bad reality shows in the early 2000s when their album sales were drying up). Accept had two of them!

If you're 10 or so years younger you write albums about cancel culture instead, just like Shinedown did.

I mean, considering their first album has some not so subtle nazi lyrics I'd say this generic boomer rant is an improvement, if anything. The music, on the other hand...

I used to think this too until I realized that that's actually itself a boomer take- I was recently called a boomer by this kid because I didn't like real-time strategy video games (which confirmed my suspicions that "boomer" is still fair game) :(

Yeah unless that kid is a Starcraft pro (which I highly doubt) there's nothing "boomer" about not liking RTS.
