Cool, not another eight years of wait.

Last album was luckluster, though. I hope this one is better.

That album cover is a bit surprising for them. I liked the last one, but Matt is definitely the better vocalist. In any case, this should be fun!

The song is up on Spotify and Apple Music. Very mid tempo and reminds me of some songs off of 72 Seasons.

Yeah, it seems like every band is using Eliran Kantor's art now. The covers are always amazing and I like the hyper-realistic look but I still prefer cartoonish artwork.

It has been used by many technical thrash metal bands? Because that's the first thing I thought when I saw this cover.

I didn't even know these guys were still going. Never saw what all the fuss was about really, I remember buying 'Enter the grave' when it came out partly due to all the hype, and I found it boring and flat. Didn't bother to check out any of their other albums after that, but I hear there are a couple of good ones.

Already enjoying this more than anything off the last one - this almost gives me some Alice in Chains vibes. It's not AMAZING, but I don't hate it.

Glad they're back. First single isn't a ripper, but it's not bad.

I loved Enter the Grave!
Saw them twice touring that one.
Infected Nations however disappointed me. Curious what they are like now!

Here's the video for the single:

This album is supposed to have a lot more midpaced tracks, not sure how I feel about that. The mid tempo stuff was never Evile's forte IMO.

Right, what's up with the lame vocals?
And I was waiting the entire song for something to happen....
And it didn't

Sorry, after Matt left vocal duties, this band just doesn't sound the same anymore. Sometimes a vocalist defines a band and Matt was that vocalist. Nothing they've done since has made me raise and eyebrow. Glad I saw them on the Infected Nations tour back in the day w/ Over Kill and God Dethroned.

Another new one. The first single wasn't a fluke, they're definitely going all in on the AIC + thrash sound and I like this one better than the first.

The only album I like doing that was Sound Of White Noise

Not digging this new Evile stuff. At all.

Wow, both of these songs are really bad. I've always been one of their most vocal defenders when everyone stopped being a fan when Infected Nations came out, but this is so far away from the sound that made me like the band. Usually I'll buy a bad album or two just to see if a band has really gone off the rails, but I don't even know if I'm going to bother to listen to this when it comes out.

If they were going to resurrect the band without Matt, I don't see why they wouldn't just change their name if the sound is totally different after one record.

I just listened to the entire thing. Balance of Time (the closer) is somewhat decent and uptempo.
Pretty much all other songs are some mid-tempo bland hard rock. Very disappointed in this release.

The album felt much longer than it actually was, so that's not a good sign. There were a couple of okay-ish songs, but that is about it.

Not sure I'd ever consider this to be just 'hard rock' but I certainly agree with everything else you said.

People here are kind of loosey about tagging albums' genres (like some users saying recent Armored Saint is "alternative rock"), but yes, this is an underwhelming album on first listen.

This feels like a rough mix of The Black Album tendencies with a shitload of Alice In Chains and supplementary thrash elements, all things I’m into but are so awkwardly executed here. I don’t hate it and I give them props for tapping into different influences, but it’s certainly not playing to their strengths in the way that their last one did.

After a couple of listens, I've concluded that this release feels like two separate EPs. The first four songs (from which all of the singles came), are totally different from the last 6, which still feel thrashy even when they aren't fast. I think the slower stuff will grow on me in time, and I'm actually glad that they ordered the tracks this way and didn't try to alternate the songs.

It's almost more of a head scratcher to do it this way because I can't figure out what Evile wants to be. The good news is that Ol's vocals are a lot better here than on Hell Unleashed because I think the first half of this record would be very challenging without the improved vocals.
