I know people saying that metal have technical riffs. Sometimes technical playing drums are the reason i love metal, but what if i love metal as a heavy music? Am i still metalhead? I will add that often learning about new bands of metal genre(i don't know why not hardcore or hard rock ones) makes me happier in the day! f.e. when i listened to down - NOLA for first time i've had better mood in the day and i had something like "fuck everything that's bad, i have Down - NOLA super album here!" haha.

Everyone loves different aspects of metal - in your case, heaviness - some the riffs, some the drums, lyrics, vocals etc.

I like metal and I look like a metalhead but I am definitely not a metalhead. Being a metalhead is dumb, just be you.

Considering how Black Sabbath, most often considered to be the first metal band, was a band that focused less on technical skills and more on heavyness, I'd say it's pretty damn metal to like the genre for it's heavyness.

Like others said, there's a wide range of different styles of metal, a wide range of reasons to enjoy the music. So if you like metal music, for one reason or another, I think that makes you a metalhead.
