-hi there, this band has been active since 2006 and resleased an ep in 2010 wich was great, but since nothing new. The status of the band is active, but is that the case?

Their Facebook page was last active in October of 2020. So maybe they are, maybe they aren't, but MA's staff usually waits to have a bit more info before changing the status of a band.

Isn't a big part of this inactivity due to Jake being busy with Visigoth/other bands? Or not wanting to get too big or something? Thought I heard that around, but don't quote me on that. Similar to why we haven't heard from Caladan Brood in god knows how long.

Northern Silence did a big reissue of that EP in 2019, with a bunch of vinyl pressings and merch and such. Definitely a money maker, but in terms of new music? Who knows.

Last I heard Jake was working on yet another side project, and only when that is done will there be new Visigoth music. So don't expect new Gallowbraid or Caladan Brood anytime soon, if ever.

I spoke to Jake at a Visigoth show a couple of months ago. Gallowbraid still exists and there will hopefully be a release in the next year or so.

Here's hoping something happens with any of his projects at some point! Dude's obviously super talented and creative. I'd be more into new Caladan Brood to be honest, since it's basically Summoning but better, but new Gallowbraid would be cool too. Or new...anything, with that guy. I'm not a power metal dude (though am gradually getting more into it) but can fuck with some new Visigoth too.

The next Gallowbraid release is basically the Winds of Winter of the epic American black metal world. I gave up hope waiting for it years ago, but will hopefully one day be pleasantly surprised if it ever comes out.
