It's still a bit uncertain as to how "back" they are, but they've confirmed they're playing Trois-Rivières Metalfest in November, playing Warp Zone in its entirety.

For the technical death metal genre, this band has been long missed and their run of albums they had was stellar. This is very awesome news!

Cool. I'd definitely be down for an album from them, if Daniel can find time away from Voivod.

Holy shit! I didn't think I'd see this news. Hopefully they make some new music too!

This is one of the best tech bands - be great to be able to catch them.

Holy shit that's good news! If it could also mean reissues of their albums and availability of their music on streaming platforms, it would be great too!

I'll definitely try to see them in Trois-Rivières for the Metalfest too! Damn!

I almost shat a brick when I saw this, one of my favorite bands from the "second wave" of tech death. Hopeless Hopes, Warp Zone, and Feeding The Abscess are all fantastic albums. So far it seems like they are only reuniting to play shows, but I'd love a new album from them too.

Now if we can just get Anata and Quo Vadis to be active again....

That is some great news, Martyr were such a great band and a bit underrrated I feel.

Aren't they messing around with an unreleased track in the video? In an actual studio? Seems weird to announce your return with an unreleased track if you don't plan on releasing it.

I can't find it now, but years back, before they split up, there was an article on Blabbermouth showing them jamming some unheard music. I remember in this same article that i'm talking about, that indicated that they were definitely working on new music, this was before there was some friction between the front man, and the drummer that occurred. There was even a clip, of them playing this new material, but it seems that it has been scrubbed from the internet. I remember going back, and finding this same article on blabbermouth when the front man made it official, that Martyr was over. But the actual video clip of new music was no longer on it, and now I can't even find this same article. I would post it in this thread right now, if I did.
