Bought a hoodie (regular Gildan) tonight from a growing death metal band in a support slot. Figured it’d be £30-£35.

Tapped my card, looked down after a few seconds to catch a split second glimpse of a £50 total before it vanished. Assumed I saw it wrong, checked my banking app and no, I didn’t.

A hoodie from a small death metal band, in their own country, cost me fifty fucking quid.
I’m all for supporting the scene but that is an absolute joke and, in all honesty, has made me see this band in a different light. That’s only £10 less than an Iron Maiden hoodie at an arena.

Anyone else experienced this with smaller bands? In the 20 years I’ve been going to smaller shows, I’ve never encountered that pricing, especially when they’re on home soil.
