Cool! This is a band I keep hearing great things about but have never fully dug into. I'll check out a bit of this later - any other album recommendations I should listen to?

I recommend Der freiwillige Bettler, Einsiedler and the compilation Ritual Music for the True Clochard.

Always welcome news. Thanks!

Question about this: The compilation omits the three instrumental tracks from the Verraterischer... album. And I'm not sure if there have ever been plans to reissue this album - if so, seems surprising that it hasn't happened by now. (Its predecessor, Geist Ist Teufel, has been reissued as early as 2009.)

Anyway, I never tried to find out what the deal was with Verraterischer and those instrumental tracks, but it has crossed my mind that they might not be actual Urfaust songs.

Those are not Urfaust songs and were "stolen" from Giya Kancheli as far as I know. Probably why the metal songs were re-released on Ritual Music for the True Clochard but the rest wasn't.

The four tracks from Verraterischer + the split with Circle Of Ouroborus (Auerauege Raa Verduistering) work great as an album. That's how I usually listen to it.

I always found it weird they thought no one would realize they stole Kancheli's compositions, as he is quite well known.

Sampled some of it. Sounds pretty good. Came out of nowhere, which doesn't surprise me with this band.

A bunch of comments on the YouTube video state it's their last album. Is that true?

They also seem to have disbanded.

Sad they’ve concluded but 20 years is a healthy career. They’ve made some provocative and unique material.

Ordered the green vinyl version of this epitaph. Just from what I have heard I think it’ll be top 10 material this year.
