really enjoyed this off first listen. haven’t listened to them in four years but this just feels like a natural progression of the last one, at least what i remember of it. “flesh as armour” has maybe the most seamlessly integrated holdsworthisms i’ve heard in death metal

Man, "Will of Whispers" is downright comical in its combination of bland grunts and super emotive, introspective, maybe even philosophical clean guitar noodling. Really bad stuff.

i really didn't expect tomb mold to go prog. great stuff so far, on a first listen this might be my favorite.

IMHO there have been hints of this new direction as far back as in Manor, although just in slight proggy touches within an OSDM-revivalesque framework, rather than the full prog-death direction they have taken with the new album.

I think that Tomb Mold definitely have the technique and the writing chops to pull this new style off successfully, but personally I like the classic Finndeath style more than I like prog metal, so right off the bat it looks like they won't be topping Manor or Planetary Clairvoyance in my book.
