One of my favorites genres of heavy metal is speed metal (the sped up rock or Rock Veloz at brazilian portuguese). And he is so much important at thrash, black, neoclassical and power creations, but so less used like these other ones. It's more easy mention 10 thrash or power metal bands than 10 from this essential genre at extreme metal. Why speed metal only was a transitional genre at late 70s and early 80s?

You just made a thread about speed metal discussing almost exactly this. There were a few interesting answers in the thread that kind of addressed this new question of yours. If you have not read them yet, I recommend returning back to your previous thread, and if the posts in the thread don't answer your question, maybe post you new question in there.

I'm saying this because your previous thread about speed metal was made no more then a week ago, and I think it would be better to just keep exploring that subject within just one thread instead of making a new one

Anyway. That's my two cents.

Also here's a link to the previous thread : viewtopic.php?f=1&t=139951

Speed metal is really not that important. Move on, OP.

More power to ye.

It's just definitively a transitional style and there's not a lot to pick from that's strictly speed metal...historically or presently. I personally prefer the newer crop of black/speed bands. Hellripper...rips!

It gets left behind because it didn't have a commercial, or really critical champion. Most of the speed metal classics are B tier at best. There were great bands that started as speed metal but became something else, usually power metal (Blind Guardian, Helloween).

I feel like truly great power metal is speed metal at heart and bad power metal isn't.

Are you going to create similar threads about speed metal every week to get the exact same answers? What's the point?
