For the Iced Earth fans, what is the bands best Trilogy? Why do you think so?

The Suffering Trilogy from "The Dark Saga"

Something Wicked Trilogy from "Something Wicked This Way Comes"

Gettysburg (1863) Trilogy from "The Glorious Burden"

Don't worry I'm here :P

Their is something awesome about all the trilogies that Iced Earth have created but the overall winner would be the Something Wicked trilogy. The birth of Set Abominae, the birth of the whole amazing theme that they have continued which I find fascinating, and plus it's the most amazing combination of the 3. All the songs are fully perfect IE magic, no weak points.. everything from the ominous piano opening and riffing of Coming Curse to the crooning of Barlow on Birth of the Wicked; it's all perfect.

The weakest is the Gettysburg trilogy, although the Suffering trilogy is weak as well it has A Question of Heaven.. which is quite possibly Iced Earth's finest moment as well as Matt Barlow's. Gettysburg trilogy is cool and all, with great moments but it almost drags on a bit much.

The Dark Saga sucks, so does Glorious Burden, so the Coming Curse trilogy wins by default. Even if it was bad, it would still win against those other two awful albums.

None of them are great, but A Question Of Heaven alone destroys them all.

I would agree that all three have their moments, but I have to agree with the rest of you and go with Something Wicked. Excellent album too!

I much prefer the Something Wicked trilogy, though Gettysburg tends to be a close second.

Something Wicked is just awesome, all the songs blend in each other perfectly. Gettysburg, although being a bad and boring trilogy, makes a good set of songs in an awful album. A Question of Heaven is the only good song in The Suffering trilogy.

The Something Wicked trilogy is my favourite and an absolute masterpiece. I just love all three songs so much.

I like the Something Wicked trilogy the best, closely followed by The Suffering trilogy.

All three trilogy's are brilliant, but my vote goes for the Dark Saga one, since A Question of Heaven is their best song ever.

Something Wicked easily, although I love the Dark Saga as well. SW is a lot easier to appreciate now after seeing Ripper's version turn some of Barlow's strongest vocal work into some of the trilogy's most mediocre parts. I don't mind Gettysburg too much; it's just a little too repetitive.

All three are lacking. The Suffering is just boring and overtly emotional, Something Wicked fails to be epic, and the other one also fails to be epic, even more so.

Still, The Coming Curse rules, therefore, Something Wicked gets my vote. Although the trilogy is still as enjoyable as Herpes, I might add.
