Thank you, really appreciated. Just have listened an entire album and I think it's amazing.

I don't have much to go on, but worth a shot.

I had received in a tape trade in the early 90s. The inside of the tape stated that members of the band were legitimate members of the Church of Vampyrism, or Church of Vampire. Something along those lines to do with a vampire church and the band members were members. It also had a way to join the church. Like a mailing address. I was trading only death metal at the time, so it had to be DM. For a while I was under the impression it was an old Acheron demo, but I dont believe Vincent was ever a member.

I know its not a lot to go on, but I figured this cant really encompass to many DM bands. Can it? Thank you for help in advance.

Well, your post reminded me of a mention of a "temple of the vampire" copyright in the first Acherontas CD: https://www.discogs.com/Acherontas-Tat- ... se/2792551
Turns out there's an actual religious organization by that name running since 1989: http://templeofthevampire.com/history
So, perhaps you could try running a search based on that.

Also, Acheron's those who have risen is supposed to be "inspired by the Temple Of The Vampire Mythos and Teachings":

Perhaps it has something to do with Acheron after all.

These guys aren't what I'm looking for, but that was a really solid guess! I know Oceans. I shared a stage with them once, somewhere in the very early 2000's. :D

Thank you for all of the information. Maybe it is Acheron after all.

I could of swore in the tape booklet was an address of the church. It gave you that, but then said by invitation only. I think.

I have found it as mp3 long time ago as Metallica - Sweet Amber, later when Metallica released ST Anger album i renamed it as Pantera - Sweet amber because it sounds more like Pantera, and Metallica had Sweet amber on the ST ANGER album; anyway the stile is more heavy than Metallica.
Please if anyone can ID the band or song, i would like to listen more songs from the band.

Thanks.

back with update, after 15 years search:

The bands name is Head Crusher the song is called The Chains Of Pain
https://myspace.com/headcrusher1

yet little is known about this band, they disband early

This is such a long shot. Back in the early 80's maybe 84/85 I heard a song on WTPA Harrisburg FM 104 a song with lyrics that went something like "I was born in the real nitty gritty, ain't no love in the city" I think it was on a compilation album put out by the station, but I've never been able to track down an album like that. It rocked hard, been searching obscure bands from pennsylvania/Maryland for the song for years. Kind of a crazy quest.

just on the off chance, you don't mean Whitesnake's "aint no love in the heart of the city"?

a request: which album cover does this remind me of?

Image

I'm talking near identical... can't place it though.

Definitely can't call it nearly identical, but the Doomfall cover reminds me of Dark Medieval Times.

Hello everybody, and thanks to the creator of this thread. It is very useful.
I'm trying very hard to find title/artist/album of a song played in a rock climbing documentary from the early '90s but I can't.
Here is the extarct of the video where the song is played:

Has anybody ever heard this?
Any help is really appreciated.

Does anyone have any information at all on a 2020 Witchcraft release titled 'Black Metal'? It appeared briefly on streaming services this week (Apple Music) and then disappeared. It's a mini-album, all acoustic, but there are no details on their various sites or from their label.

It has been uploaded by someone to YouTube with the same artwork that showed on Apple Music.
Is this a compilation of unreleased Pelander demos? A new album? What's going on??

Seventh Angel? They're probably the best-known. 2 great albums in the 90s, plus a more recent one.

Wasn't them unfortunately. Wasn't any of the bands they had splits with either.

I found a playlist on Youtube that has a song I really like but the song list is incomplete and the one I am looking for is missing. Here is the link:
https://youtu.be/0s3Wh53CxIg?t=1570
It plays from 26:10 till 26:56. I've tried the most popular song searching apps (Shazam, Soundhound, AHA Music (google chrome)) without any luck.
The closest sounding song I've found is Intestine Baalism - A Keen. If by any chance anyone knows similar instrumental tracks then please let me know.

Thanks in advance!

Another long shot story here...

I really don't have much to go off of other then the fact it was NWOBHM and the artwork had the band standing in front of a church.
It was posted in a free download spot here on the forums and I remember a lot of people talking really highly about it back in 2007 or so?
As you can see from post number I hardly ever post on here, more a reader, then a talker.

If anyone could help me with tracking this down I would greatly appreciate it, thanks for your time and effort!

Hey guys, please help me remember a osdm release from either 2018 or 2019, that had an album cover of a woman being abducted by an alien. Had red and black colors in it but that's all I can remember. It wasn't tech death, but rather old school sounding. Thank you!

Does anyone have a link to any of the music from that shitty bedroom black metal band Apocalypse? It was notorious on here back in the day and I'm in need of a good lauge.

the free download bit is confusing (me), but the more occult NWOBHM bands like Witchfinder General, Pagan Altar, Witchfynde, etc. have album covers and band photos that involve churches and are talked about really highly... start with those. I take it you don't mean Venom, right? :D

First off thanks for the response! As for what I mean by the free download spot... There use to be a topic on here where people could post links for really rare and obscure albums... which I assume had to be taken down due to copyright reason perhaps? With that being said it was more of an obscure band then those three you mentioned, I know them quite well... and no, not Venom either... hahaha - again more along the lines of a band that only had this one album before calling it quits if I'm not mistaken.

Hey all,

Trying to remember a band who were death metal in their early years, later on they switched to power metal.
Pretty sure they were from Scandinavia (I could be wrong tho). Thank you in advance! :)

That's an easy one. Nocturnal Rites. Their second album is one of the best in the genre.

Amoral fit your description as well, but they sucked at both so I hope you don't mean them...

I thought the early Amoral albums were great, especially Decrowning.

Death almost made a similar move with Schuldiner's Control Denied project as well, though they're more progressive than power.
