I figured maybe we could have a section where we link cool guitars covers on youtube (as I've been getting carried away at the General Reviews Discussion)...

For starters, this high school band absolutely nails Megadeth's Tornado Of Souls, with spot-on soloing and a bassist on fire. (The girl singing is a nice touch too!)

I used to watch this guy back when I only listened to mainstream metap and I've got to say, this old guy can rip! He nails every song making them sound very close to the originals. Check him out!

I love seeing people learn and play ridiculously hard songs.

These are two of my favorites:

Isabela Moriki with the smoothest playthrough of Frantic Disembowelment I've ever seen. Her movements are all super fluid and it never looks like she's struggling or stopping abruptly on any particular note. It's unbelievably impressive.

Hubert Drapeau with a collection of super difficult riffs. The last one is Tendinitis by Jason Richardson @ 4:50. Even if you don't like the song/his music, I think you gotta admit that riff is N U T S and honestly just looks really cool with all of the difficult hand shapes and constant motion.

This one restores my faith in humanity. It makes you appreciate the song and Laiho's genius even more.

As I already mentioned in the reviews forum, here are two inspirational axe men I've been checking out daily lately; Riktor and Iron Demon, whose musical tastes parallel mine to an nth degree...

A couple treats in JP's Invader and Night Demon's Black Widow, alongside bonus for Nicko from Licks Of The Beast, another super skilled fellow who's a shoo-in for Iron Maiden's next guitarist, if necessary...

(as well as a wicked tutorial for said Seventh Son gem)

(He also has a great nostalgia video about the 1988 masterpiece).

As they say in French, "enjoie!"

*Also, this thread is applicable to cool bass/drum/vocal/mandolin (just kidding) covers...

Yo Onityan making a case for why he is quite possibly the most mechanically skilled guitar player alive today.

I might be biased because we’re friends, but Gabriel’s covers are fucking spectacular:

There’s an MA user making some great covers too:

A couple of great Dio era Sabbath covers to start the week off properly, for Neon Knights and ye ole Computer God...

Also, I dig this dude for actually including spot-on tabs for his deadly Mercyful Fate_Curse Of The Pharaohs tutorial, whilst the next JP_Grinder cover is simply...too cool!

One for the road as well, this girl nails The Sentinel:

Flying High Again, eh?...

Oh, I found a wicked tutorial for Neon Knights;

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PUK-DjU ... b3JpYWw%3D

Although I've been noodling around on the guitar since the early 90s I never took it to the next level of actually learning and playing an entire song, solos included, but have now made it my mission to learn Sabbath's indelible opener, come (heaven,) hell or high water...
