I just noticed this on a website for pre-order; what is it? Is it a new studio album, or some kind of compilation?

No he's referring to another upcoming Mayhem release called Life Eternal.

I heard about this also. Here is some information: Link.

A re-release of the song, with "the original bass mix", apparently. 25 bucks for what appears to be just the one song and some stickers, yeesh.

I think it is referring to the album, not the title track (or the track Life Eternal?).

And it looks like the same thing as the one I linked to.

It's 5 songs from DMDS with the original bass mix.

Sounds really interesting. I'll wait 'til someone uploads it onto youtube because that price is ridiculous.

So it's basically DMDS without Hellhammer turning down the bass mix?

I thought Hellhammer never did turn it down. Or was it that he never re-recorded the bass?

Ahh. So your paying $25 for a few songs with bass turned up? Sad. Very sad.

And to top it off, this is in all likelihood a bootleg.

If it's not a bootleg, then they need money so bad, they will disrespect Euronymus's parents wishes. That's pretty fucken low in my book.

Well, back when the album was being released, they AT LEAST, turned it down, not up. So now that time has passed, let's piss on Euronymus grave.

What do Euronymous' parents have to do with Mayhem, and why should they have any influence over their music?

That's bullshit, I'm fairly certain Euronymous would have wished for the album to be released the way it was recorded. Don't blame Euro for his parents being retarded christian faggots.

I was kinda looking at it like, if the bass player in my band killed me, I don't think I'd want his bass lines on that album. But I can also see him wanting it released the way it was recorded. I kinda have mixed feelings about it.

His parents asked Hellhammer to rerecord Vargs bass parts. Hellhammer said yes, but in reality he just turned the bass down a bit.

Also before that when Varg was arrested for an interview and shit the first time Euros parents asked Euro to close his store due to all of the media attention.

It's not like he was making any money from Helvete anyway.

Apparently though after all of the troubles wtih Varg getting arrested and stuff a lot of people were going to the store. It was big promotion. But the store was closed... So it could have been making a bit more money...

Wouldn't be so quick to judge, could be labels decision.

Apparently it's being released by Attila's label and being distributed by Season of Mist, in which case it'll be the first of his label's releases other than the Anno Domini re-issue. I see no problem with that, any label starts somewhere. :)

Why only 5 songs? Gimme all 8! I'd rather buy "From The Darkest Past" bootleg CD.

No bootlegs with Ordo songs have shown up yet. There's a few shitty videos on YouTube but that's about it.

Euronymous' folks told Hellhammer to rerecord the bass without Varg. Hellhammer couldn't play bass so he just turned it down.

It's on Attilas own label. But Season of Mist is selling it for 45 dollars or something, haha!

I remember the bass being really loud already on one of the songs. Anyways, it was ridiculous to alter the bass at all. What in the hell do Euronymou's parents care two shits about actually *listening* to that album to begin with? They probably listen to Christian rock! They would never have made it through half of "Funeral Fog."

Maybe it's just me, but the bass is already audible enough on the original release with normal speakers or good headphones.
Seems like your typical new-Mayhem cash-grab. It wouldn't surprise me if the number of alternative recordings, b-sides, live-albums, officialized bootlegs and other redundancies outnumber their actual albums three to one.
