Do you ask for the Best Asian Black Metal band, and discuss about this topic ?

If so, early Nebiras are quiet good. Darkthrone's brotherband, and especially their old demos rule with this second wave of BM sound.

Abhorer rule as well with their stripped down Black/Death.

As for Impiety: I like their stuff up to Skullfucking Armageddon. Then it got too technical and Death Metal style. However, playing live they kill.

But for the best I think early Rator wins here.

I'd also like to throw in Surrender of Divinity from Thailand. Both full lengths are really overlooked when it comes to Asian black metal.

Agreed with Surrender of Divinity.
Also Sigh is my personal favourite, next is Abigail.

It's a tie between Zuriaake and Yngizarm. Be Persecuted are also quite good. As far as Death Metal goes, Third Soveirgn from India.

Be Persecuted... good?
LAME as FUCK "depressive black metal".

IMO, they are one of the trendy fags that don't belong in black metal. I'm disgusted that I have their album still.

I have a compilation of some great asians black/death metal bands. Some of them are great, such as:

Seraphim - black metallers, with quick tempos, two vocals headed (one black and one extreme voice), and in some places they play good riffs.

Makam - one my beloved asian bands. Totally insane people over there, but their music is from another planet. You HAVE to check them out. My recommendations are Makabre Amuletha and their split with one chinese -or something, band Hymns for Sacrificed Souls.

Hayagriva - a more ambient bm band. With using of keyboards, not very much about music stuff, but it's all about atmospere they create, which is amazing. Give them a shot as well. I heard their, as I see now, single, Jahanamiyun.

Ijajil - great slow paced blackmetal, with clear drumming, not fast solos or something. If you are a Burzum fan, then you have to check them. If not, you can stay away.

I like it, and they are certainly one of the better Depressive Black Metal acts.

Oh, and I completely forgot about Sad Legend. Their stuff is gold.

Now Sad Legend on the other hand is quite good.
Be Persecuted seems to be disliked by alot of my friends, as well as Metal Maniacs.

Personally, being really into DSBM, there are much better bands than Be Persecuted.

EDIT: Listening to Sad Legend now, they are much better than the first time I heard them. Thanks for bringing them up.

Midwinter from China is good. They play melodic black metal and have a great atmosphere in most of the debut albums songs. Nothing extraordinary but above average to me.

Hurusoma is killer, I don't mind Ritual Day for more melodic mainstream sounding Chinese BM. Sigh of course is classic, Scorn Defeat!

I like Be Persecuted. One of the better DBM bands and considering the fact that they use a female vocalist and come from a region where this type of metal isn't exactly reigning supreme, I think they're rather good.

I'd also like to mention Varuna. They share links to the links of Midwinter and Zuriaake, as well as being rather experimental with the black metal style.

With Japanese black I tend to prefer the thrashy sound. Sabbat, Abigail, and Sacrifice are good examples.

Never heard Sacrifice and didn't care for Abigail, but I dig Sabbat. That's how I like my black metal in general: emphasis on the METAL.

Yea, I'm waiting for their first album "Puing Balairung." It was delayed according to their label.

Well, I have a soft spot for Chthonic, but the only answer is Sigh.

I think Heartless deserves a mention. They do create good atmosphere but they should improve in the vocals section I think. I'll give 8/10 to them.

By far Sigh is the best. Another very good band is also japanese band Magane. It is black metal with great vocals and touches of japanese folk.
Album beginning at the end is very good. Check it out!

Aglare Light - Chinese nsbm for the win!

On a serious note, Abigail and Sigh. The former for black thrashing madness, the latter for some of the weirdest metal music ever created.

I came into this topic to mention them, they are indeed very good. You also described them exactly the way I was planning too. Sad that they only have two albums but they're both excellent

I just checked them out, they sounded really interesting. Great band, I'm going to pick up both albums.

The best I have seen so far is Be Persecuted from China. One of the few very good bands in the Depressive Black Metal scene.

While I'm not that big on black metal in general, Sigh are fucking awesome. And yes, I know they don't really play black metal anymore, but I was referring to the older stuff, such as "Scorn Defeat".

Maybe they haven't been so consistent, but the first album by Oathean (titled, "The Eyes of Tremendous Sorrow") of Korea is really fucking good.

Pretty awesome melodic black metal with Oriental folk music touches scattered throughout, but not very dominant. This is easily one of the most emotionally charged albums I have ever heard, you can really feel the music. It's moving. I guess if you're looking for "evil" music, this wouldn't suit your tastes, but if you want very good melodic black metal, I would certainly check out "The Eyes of Tremendous Sorrow". Their later works remind me more of keyboard-heavy Dimmu Borgir worship mixed with melodic death metal. This material should be avoided, only "The Eyes of Tremendous Sorrow" is a masterpiece.

For a similar style of melancholy (but not stupid "depressive/suicidal") black metal out of Korea, you should also check out all works by Sad Legend. The styles the two bands play are very similar, but Sad Legend does not utilize folk instruments at all. However, what's interesting is that Sad Legend mixes harsher black metal rasps with really, really high melodic falsettos and their all nicely layered and are all performed by their drummer, Naamah, a mainstay of the Korean extreme metal scene and a talented musician. This project is his baby, and he really provides us with some beautiful music within it.

I'd probably say Zuriaake would be my favorite and the runner-up would be Be Persecuted. It is actually very good DSBM; "Some How" is one hell of a depressing song that uses mostly major chords while provoking a devastating depressive atmosphere. However, their chord progressions do seem to drag on a little longer than they should. Chthonic is another great band which I love. I still have yet to listen to Varuna but hearing all the positive comments about them, I'm going to need to give 'em a shot.

Hahaha I discovered him last week. It's kind of shitty, but interesting.

I've been really enjoying Zuriaake lately. Afterimage of Autumn is an amazing album. It has some really good atmosphere. You can find a download link in the blog on my signature if you're interested.
Be Persecuted is alright, I like the guitar tone for some of I.I, but it gets old somewhat quickly.
Chthonic is great entry level symph/melodic black metal. I liked them when I first heard them, and I still kind of like them.

I would recommend checking out "Evocation" from Hong Kong. Not pure black metal, but highly worth your time.

'Sabbat' without a doubt. I really liked that split with 'Surrender Of Divinity' so I'll have to check out more of SoD's stuff.

Oh, and 'Barbatos' is a close second \m/

Sabbat, Barbatos, and Abigail all tie in my opinion. Sabbat has got a huge discography, Barbatos has Grind to help out with fresh ideas, and Abigail is just damn catchy.
