Hmm... Obituary's bassist is in the line up. I wonder if he can play Black Metal as good as he can play Death Metal. |

Seems like the other guyss might have gotten Infernus drunk one day and had him sign some paperwork that he doesn't remember! King ov Hell has no way of winning as the rights of the title do not belong to him, he's just a moron with little integrity. Yeah, King is very megalomanic and arrogant from what I have heard, I know a couple of people who have met him. I think he's in for a gigantic disappointment I think, in the court. What are you talking about?! If King ov Hell did in fact gain the ownership to the name Gorgoroth behind Infernus's back, then Infernus is screwed! It dosen't matter if Infernus was the founding member or if he was always the backbone, all that matters is who officially has the ownership, which is King. I really want Infernus to win this case, but I seriously don't know how he's gonna pull it off. The thing is, Infernus never passed on ownership to King ov Hell. The thing is, Infernus never actually had ownership. In essence, he was the spiritual head of the band, but not the legal head (there was none). That's why King could do what he did. |

Well, the only way you can really legally own a bandname is if you copyright it, and that costs several tens of thousands of dollars, and I doubt anyone of them have done that. |

I have an idea, let's keep the court case thing out of the topic and let's discuss how awesome the Infernus led Gorgoroth album will be

https://dbsearch.patentstyret.no/Vis_pa ... plication= From the Norwegian patent office. It's a lot of legal mumbo-jumbo but the thing in a nutshell is that: 1) Infernus was the only original founding member left 1a) Nobody originally copyrighted the name Gorgoroth 2) King and Gaahl applied for a patent on the name, merchandise, and records of Gorgoroth behind Infernus's back 3) Norwegian patent office recognized and approved the copyright request 4) Regain Records then went AROUND this and released the material with Infernus on it, in breach of the copyright that now belongs to King and Gaahl. 5) They're now fighting all of this in court. |

Yes but if Infernus wins it'll allow him to keep making GOOD Gorgoroth albums not the utter audio failure that is Gaahl/King's music, although I doubt Infernus would give up if he loses. |

Kruel wrote: Unorthodox wrote: Pest>Gaahl, so I'm looking more forward to what infernus has in store than King ov Hell! Another (obvious) point to consider is: Infernus > King ov Hell. Well, yeah, but one must wonder why Infernus let King write the later albums if he could have continued to do better himself (though I certainly think the early Gorgoroth albums were better. I like some songs here and there on the later ones, but the early albums were consistently good). That being said, Pest is my favorite vocalist ever. This makes my day. I don't care who gets the band name, if there is a band involving both Infernus and Pest, I will buy their stuff. Just be the devil's advocate here, har har, while what King and Gaahl did was shitty of them, you still have to consider that Infernus hadn't written anything in forever and in essence, King more or less was Gorgoroth for a time.Even if what he wrote wasn't as good. I'm sure there is more to it than the obvious. But yeah, they're still assholes. That being said, I would still want Infernus to get it if possible so we could have a return of a Pest/Infernus Gorgoroth. And I like Gaahl's Trelldom stuff better than Gorgoroth, I would just as soon that he weren't in Gorgoroth anyway. |

That's what I've been saying for awhile now. So Infernus went throught a sort-of "dry season" when it comes to creativity, but isn't it a bit odd that he suddenly has a burst of creative force when all this shit started happening? I sometimes get the sense that Infernus is writing this new album just to make a point. Kinda like he's saying "See, see, I'm writing a new Gorgoroth album! That's why the name should still belong to me!" |

Very ironic, very early-Black-Metal. |

I sometimes get the sense that Infernus is writing this new album just to make a point. Kinda like he's saying "See, see, I'm writing a new Gorgoroth album! That's why the name should still belong to me!" Yes, very much so. I fully understand why he would be pissed, as I just said, but the fact that he only magically got the urge to write music again directly AFTER King and Gaahl kicked him out of the band does sort of make me wonder. I remember seeing a video interview in which they were asked about that, and King mumbled something about like creative differences or something and Gaahl took the mic and just blurted "we kicked him out" or something. What did they kick him out for? Not writing any music? Still, UtSoH is my favorite Gorgoroth album and one of my favorite albums ever by any band, so I am still happy to hear Infernus and Pest are planning on doing stuff together again. |

But hadn't Infernus already announced _before_ this whole ridiculous split thang that he has written material again for Gorgoroth/got his inspiration back and even threw that "Quantos Possunt ad Satanitatem Trahunt" in the air? |

I asked a question, namely "Why was he kicked out?" so I really had no info to get right or not. I suppose I haven't followed them that closely for years, so I just didn't pay attention. Still seems strange that he hadn't really written anything good in a damned long time. Still, something must've happened for them to kick him out. Something along those lines. According to Gaahl and King, that is. Of course they would say this, to try and justify their actions. King has also said in an interview that Infernus hasn't written any good music since 1996. I think it should be obvious that the crap they are saying about Infernus shouldn't be blindly trusted, as they have a VERY good motive for making people think Infernus is a "has-been" and an asshole, i.e. they need to get people on their side. They keep changing their story, though - for example, King has come up with several reasons why he quit the band in 2006. Before the split, he first said that he quit because he had problems fronting the band's ideology in public. Then he said it was because of a personal matter. Then he claimed he didn't really quit. And, in an interview with Revolver Magazine earlier this year, he said he quit because of Infernus, but Gaahl called him up and asked him to rejoin. |

Thus the "blah blah blah" and "Something along those lines" parts of my post.
The problem is it's doubtful (unless they somehow reconcile in the future) that we'll ever know what actually happened. |

Pest on vocals!
Here's to hoping for another thing like UTSOH.
It prolly won't happen but anyways... Also, even if I support Infernus and think Gaahl and King should go fuck themselves (or eachother) or something like that, I realize that since King has registered the name Gorgoroth it might be difficult for Infernus to win. We're prolly gonna sit there with Gaayhl and King being Gorgoroth, no matter how "right" or "wrong" we might think that to be. I hope Infernus will start a band with this line-up even if he doesn't get to call it Gorgoroth though.

I, like most everyone here, am glad to see Pest returning on vocals. I honestly haven't heard a lot of Gorgoroth, but What I have heard I like, especially Pest's vocals (though I'll agree that Hat is pretty wicked). It's also nice to see that the vast majority of Gorgoroth fans seem to back Infernus (at least here). Regardless of how the court case comes out, it seems as though Infernus will always be the true head of Gorgoroth to the fans of the band. |

There's one thing that bugs me...over the last year Gaahl and his fags have been playing ''Gorgoroth'' shows all over including one at Wacken. Is it even legal for them to play old songs? They had nothing to do with that material, plus they suck balls when performing it, as you can see here from this thoroughly raped version of Revelation of Doom: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J6wyu841Z6s |

One of their current live guitar players fucked up a lot when I saw them a couple of months ago, they were headlining a festival, and almost everyone was disappointed because that one guitar player sucked so hard and ruined things. Their new drummer is wicked though. Some italian 20 year old guy I think. |

On Ad Majorem Sathanas Gloriam I think his vocals are actually pretty good. Live he sucks though, and Twilight of the Idols isn't incredible either. This whole thing is a disgrace...imagine if Dani Filth got kicked out of Cradle of Filth (it would be awesome because he sucks and their music would improve alot but it wouldn't happen since he IS CoF). |
