| Post subject: | Gorgoroth news from Infernus! |
Some excellent news on Infernus' official Gorgoroth website www.gorgoroth.info these last few days!! Quote: 12/01/2008 - Gorgoroth Trial Date Set Infernus filed a lawsuit against King ov Hell in September this year, on the basis of King ov Hell (the 6th bass player in Gorgoroth's history) going behind Infernus' back in September 2007, secretly applying for trademark protection of the bandname and logo of Gorgoroth, which Infernus started using in 1992. The court case has now finally been scheduled. It will take place in Oslo, Norway, in the last week of January 2009. As soon as the court has made its decision, further information will be found at www.gorgoroth.info . It is also with great pleasure that it can be announced that Infernus' new Gorgoroth line-up has been completed. The identity of the vocalist, which may not come as a surprise to some, will be revealed in a few days. Hail Satan! Quote: 12/04/2008 -
New Line-up completed Infernus' Gorgoroth line-up is now complete, and the new vocalist is none other than the legendary Pest - back at last after an 11 year hiatus from the band. The 2008 incarnation of Gorgoroth thus consists of Pest (vocals), Infernus (guitars), Tormentor (guitars), Frank Watkins (bass) and Tomas Asklund (drums). As for the work on the new album, "Quantos Possunt ad Satanitatem Trahunt", it is going ahead more or less as scheduled, but due to the upcoming trial in Oslo in January 2009, the guitar recordings will be slightly postponed. The album will contain eight tracks of Infernus' signature aural evil, and will be released in 2009 on Regain Records. Fear the return! |

I thought I didn't give a shit about any of this, but the line-up has piqued my interest a bit. I'm hoping that with Pest back and Infernus in full control we may end up with something that sounds similar to the Pentagram/Under the Sign Gorgoroth. |

Pest back on vocals? That's by far the best thing that's come out of this whole thing so far. As long as Infernus can still pull out those riffs, it should be good. |

Exciting news for sure, but can he still belt those shrieks out like he did on "Under the Sign of Hell"? |

Seems like most people are excited about pest being back, and I would have to say that I am too. Definitly the best Gorgoroth vocalist. |

Nice, I like Pest. I don't really care for Gorgoroth other than Antichrist, which is really a masterpiece, but I just wanted to state that the Gayhl/Queen ov Hell combo pisses me off and King of Hell is the biggest tryhard I've ever seen. |

Was Pest that asshole who "sung" on Pentagram? If so, Infernus's Gorgoroth is in danger of sucking real hard.. |

That was Hat. Pest is on "Under the Sign..". What's your problems with Hat on "Pentagram", if you don't mind my asking. Sure, the vocals were pitch shifted like crazy, but still... |

I had to put on Under the Sign of Hell at work after reading this. We have a very odd juxtaposition going right now, with my boss playing Christmas music out front and Gorgoroth blasting from the back of the office. The Rite of Infernal Invocation is such a fucking amazing song. |

Here's hoping Infernus wins once he has his day at the courts. King ov Hell is a piece of shit for doing what he did - I mean, c'mon, the SIXTH bassist trying to take over rights to the band? Sounds rather incredulous to me. Also, I'm excited about Pest being back on the mic - Under the Sign ov Hell was my introduction to the band, so that's pretty sweet that he's back

That and Funeral Procession are my favorites from that but the wind noise as the end of that song irritates me. |

Might be interesting. Admittedly, the only album I have heard from Gorgoroth was with Pest as the singer. I just haven't listened to much of their stuff. I do like what I have heard though. |

I'm happy for Infernus continuing alone and fulfilling his Gorgoroth line-up with Pest, a real good singer for THIS band (even if I prefer Hat more), but do you find relaxing or something to refer to these cocks like that ? They are shit and they will keep acting like shit for eternity. It won't change anything, or we won't be wiser by viewing your 'name-word' tricks. |

Considering the talented lineup, fresh creative drive, the return of Pest, and of course the legal go-ahead, this recording could very well match or exceed Under the Sign of Hell. |

That Pest will be returning brings instant credibilty back to that incarnation of Gorgoroth. Gaahl is a good front man and doesn't sound too different than Pest but Pest sand on almost all of their formidable material. |

Yes! Pest on vocals, this makes me very happy. Also, I was surprised to see Watkins is on bass about a month ago. Me and some friends bought him a drink and shot the shit for a while after an Obituary show, then I found out later that he's in Gorgoroth. Wild. |

This definitely has a lot of potential... Although I'm worried Infernus may be a bit rusty in the songwriting apartment after so many years of not doing much, but maybe he was just saving the good songs. |

This is good news. And for anyone wondering, Pest is still a maniac on vocals. Just listen to the new Blood Stained Dusk album. |

Excellent news indeed. I knew Gorgoroth (the true one, fuck Gaahl and his little gay friends) was on a good path but this is even better now that they have Pest. I certainly look forward to their new album. |

I'm a bit interested, seeing as Frank Watkins from Obituary is on bass. I haven't heard any Gorgoroth yet, though. Maybe when I get better Internet... |

That is pretty interesting. A friend of mine actually knows some guys in Bloodstained Dusk, Pest's current project. Sounds like he won't be shrieking for them anymore! |

All the ingredients are there: Gayhl is gone, same for King ov Hell, Infernus is back as the singwriter, while the overall lineup is excellent. This whole thing probably motivated Infernus to write something remarkable. |

You should have understood that I didn't try to communicate, but to state an opinion. 'fucking yeah, real gorgoroth are back', 'gaahl is gay-he sucks' are types of posts with no reason to exist, which, also, don't turn people to communication. |

Interesting. I wonder whether this will be a well-crafted "return to form" or a hastily-begotten mediocre exercise in one-upmanship? It will be enlightening to find out. |
