On Sepultura's Myspace, they've released 2 new songs from their new album, "The Treatment" and "We've Lost You" http://www.myspace.com/sepultura I've only listened to The Treatment so far, and it's pretty good. Not Beneath the Remains good, but it's at least up there with Dante XI. Your opinions? |

2nd track is better than the first, but both are not that great. |

Oh how the mighty have fallen (and try to get back up but just stumble around) edit: then again only one original member is still in the band, so is it even fair to compare this to old Sepultura (quality wise)? It seems like a practically different band just trying to ride on Sepulturas name. |

*yawn* Man, years ago (sadly, it was about 17 or so), Sepultura was my favorite band. This was on the heels of Schizophrenia, BTR and Arise. Then the wheels started to fall off. |

Christ, that was horrible. There's WAY too much groove, and it's a damn shame too. |

I like them. It's not up to par with the old classics but it ain't bad either. If the rest of the new songs are like this then I think the new album will be alright. |

The new project of Derrick Green (Musica Diablo) is a thousand times better than this Sepultura. http://www.myspace.com/musicadiablo They recorded only 2 demos until now. |

These aren't fantastic songs I must say, though they're pretty much the best of a genre that is vomit inducing by nature (groove metal ). At any rate, it's better than Cavalera Conspiracy.

Awesome. Then again, I really like Against and DanteXXI and like most of the direction they took when Max left. |

Every time I see something about present-day Sepultura, I get a mental image of Max Cavalera pissing on a copy of Beneath the Remains and a single tear rolls down my cheek. |

weren't they going to change their name? i can't remember where it was but someone, somewhere said something like **it's such a shame that young band from Brazil...Sepultura died on their way back home after a successful US tour, the plane just crashed right into the ocean. Unfortunately some lame band named themselves Sepultura and have been making bad music ever since, now people think they are the same band, such a shame** |

I didn't like them very much, given both a listen. First track is worse, as another said. |

C'mon guys, Sepultura and Sepultura are two completely seperate bands. Once we all realize this, there will be fewer tears and less heartache. |

Once we all realize this, there will be fewer tears and less heartache. Yeah, so is Metallica and Metallica. But it doesn't change the facts that they suck. It is still a crime to make that kind of bad music...or at least it should be. |

I'll give it a listen, but as far as I'm concerned Cavalera Conspiracy are the closest thing to the real Sepultura around at the moment. And their album was good in a middling and repetitive kind of way. |

can't they just go ahead and change their damn name??? The first song, could've been good had it been faster. They already had the riff (which sounds exactly like a Hellchild song, btw). The second track is decent though. |

At this point it seems like they don't even want to be a good band anymore |

Yeah, so is Metallica and Metallica. Just like the difference between Napalm Death, Napalm Death and Napalm Death. As long as a band keeps making good music, none will complain. Sepultura just don't sound like Sepultura anymore nor are their new songs anything special compared to anything Max is doing these days and the legions of new thrash bands around. |

If they change their name, everybody will listen to the first album and say "wow what utter crap" and ignore the band forever. The result is that they wont make money, so they keep the Sepultura name. |

But Max isn't and hasn't been in Sepultura for like 12 years. |

I actually got a promo of it a few days ago. Some tunes are good thrash numbers, until more thrash numbers come around that sound identical, and of course, the groove. Not good. |
