I recently went on the Ozzfest website and filled out their gay little survey to put in my five picks for bands I'd like to see and they were as follows: Exodus, DRI, Cannibal Corpse, Motorhead, and Solace. I later added Testament, Carcass, The Absence, Kataklysm, and SOD (not very good chances but fuck it anyways). I looked at other people's postings and saw everyone wants shit like Slipknot, Otep, Throwdown, Static-X, and Five Finger Death Punch (WTF?) which someone on there described as "real thrash". I know a lot of people are anti-Ozzfest because of these kinds of bands so I was wondering if you guys could pick five bands to play this shit, who would they be?

Black Sabbath (With Ozzy)

In that order. Even though I musically like slayer more, I would rather see Gwar because of the outrageous live show.

Ozzfest has been the worst tour around for ages, this is nothing new. The sheer fact that Rigor Mortis played on it last year is astonishing. They should be headlining their own tour with great upcoming thrash openers.

I know that's what blows. Someone posted on there that Ozzfest could be as good as Wacken and I agree but they really need to start getting some better bands!

The thing about Ozzfest is people think it's a metal tour because of Ozzy's association with it, when at the end of the day they deem themselves as a "hard rock" or "harder edged music" festival. Openly stating that they don't exclusively sign on metal acts allows them a lot more freedom in getting god awful scene bands to play.

Ozzfest is shit now. It's the mecca for the tweenage numetal fans and probably will be until they get a good lineup.
Someone should organize a good U.S. metalfest. It'd be expensive as shit but it'd be incredibly worth it.

the last year i considered going Iron Maiden was going to headline becuase Ozzy couldn't perform and then they cancelled it like two days before. I had 500 bucks for it and was going to go wild. Still havn't seen Maiden

You have to remember that Ozzfest is primarily a US festival. The lineups some of you are wishing for, are not going to happen because they would not make as much money because Sharon and co. would want to tap out the American mainstream dollar with Hot Topic sponsership. Nor would we want bands like Ensiferum and Immolation to play such commercial fare. Not only that but the non big name bands have to front bids starting at around seventy grand for a slot on the tour.
