I am listening to huge amount of non-metal bands.

For example:

Especially likely sloth - there is minimally some link to metal because it
is project form the Agalloch bassist. It is very less-known stuff and they are playing some mad avant-garde music a bit similar to Mike Patton's Fantomas. it is completely madness but some songs are really catchy.
I can recommend album "Round The Corner Fudge Is Made"

G.u.t. - Another project of metaller - it is project of Cornelius Jakhelln from Solefald. It is electronica-based but with some elements of another genres. On the album "My only drug is madness" there is cover of Darkthrone's transylvanian hunger. it is good stuff.
